I've been thinking about putting a collection of stories together from SG fans. *laughs* No, no, it's not fanfiction. It would be a collection of personal stories- how you were introduced to science fiction and what science fiction means to you as a person. It could be as short or as long as you wanted. It could be typed out or hand-written. I kind of like the idea of it being hand-written, but if you are like me, you have chicken-scratch. Then the collection could be presented to the 'guests' at the conventions. I think it would be a nice idea to show how science fiction and their jobs have impacted our lives. Unless you go to a really small con, you don't get to engage the guests with little more than the usual pleasantries. Sure TV is mostly escapism, but is it also family time for you? Did it help you to come out of your shell by coming to cons and realizing you weren't the only one? What, how, why?
The other question is: should it be open to other fandoms (ie Smallville, LOST, etc).
The compilation would then be put into a zine (?) format for distribution.
Thoughts? Ideas? Has this already been done? Is it too corny?
