Today is my 20th birthday! This is a very exciting and not at all scary event. To be honest, I'm actually not that worried about leaving my teenage years. Unlike most people, who seem to need to take the month after their birthday to adjust to being a new age, I tend to think like I am the age I am turning for the month before my birthday, meaning that I am more comfortable than most with turning a new age, since I have felt like I am that age for a while already.
At the moment, I am sitting in The Blend on campus, logged into BT Openzone, which makes me feel rather cool, using a laptop in a cafe (even though in reality it's probably rather nerdy). I have a meeting with my Medieval seminar tutor at 2 to discuss my essay, but he knows it's my birthday (or at least, I told him yesterday, but I will not hold it against him if he has forgotten), so I hope he will be nice about it. After that I'll head home on the bus, call the bank about my card (because they seem to have cancelled it, but neglected to send me a new one, which is rather irritating), and then sort out taking a cab to Asda to get supplies for my party tonight. My parents have informed me that they will reimburse me when they see me on sunday, which is very nice because it means I don't have to worry too much about budget (although I'm not going to go too crazy). Oh, and I also need to check the post when I get back and see if any birthday cards have come through the post. I know that various family members will probably send them this way.
Now I will post this entry, and sign off. I really don't know what I'm going to do with myself for the next 45 minutes. Probably constantly refresh Facebook to see if anyone else has left me birthday messages. :-)
