It hurts me how the fact that Sam's mercy is what killed him. He hesitated over killing Jake, Jake was a good guy, I was already feeling that at about the middle of the episode. I think he was written/acted really well in the little time he had because at first you didn't really like him, then he seemed like someone at Sam's level and you respected and liked him, and then that makes it even worse when he turns on Sam and all the more understandable that Sam didn't want to kill him. And in the end, that was Sam's (TEMPORARY) downfall.
Another thing, Dean had JUST seem Sam happy, Sam living a full life. Now this happens. I bet he suddenly feels selfish for needing the relationship they had together, and needing to save people, when all is now completely lost. God, I'm starting to see why he's just so ready to let the world end next week.
Speaking of, I am SO READY to know how Dean is going to do this. Is there going to be a trade of souls again? Some loophole? I'm completely unspoiled, but if you also are and have theories, I'd love to hear them.
This song just popped up on random and I thought it was so relevant right now.
The Calling-For You You are the light that shines the way
But you're trapped in violence
I can be the man who saves the day
I'm there for you
No matter what
I'm there for you
Never giving up
After THAT, I think we need some cheering up, hmm?
