So last night I saw King Kong and loved it! And tonight my mom and I watched the first installment of Horatio Hornblower. I had seen it before but she is so much more fun to watch it with. Whenever they say something, we have to turn to each other and giggle. For example, HH said "FIRE!" about 3 times and kept going and at the exact same moment we turn to each other and say "FIRE!" simulatneously.
Captain Pellew: Damn your impudence, sir! (but you have to hear it in a proper British accent)
Everyone: Indefatigable!
Everyone: Frigate.
Everyone: FIYAH!
Oh man, I forgot how much I love that show. I need to start reading the books, badly!
Now on to King Kong observations.
I still can't believe my brother didn't know that Kong dies. Can I get a WOW. What, do you think the movie ends with him sipping margaritas on his own private island?
Someone brought their tiny kids into the theater. I wanted to scream "HIRE A BABYSITTER!" but didn't.
When Kong slammed his hand down next to Ann all unexpectedly, someone behind me literally went "ooOOOAHHhh". It was beautiful.
OMG the centipedes. Such a Shelob moment.
The whole beginning could have just been someone saying "foreshadowing, forshadowing, impending doom and scariness".
Dinosaur chase? SO AWESOME. Kong laughing? SO AWESOME.
It must have been so hard for Naomi to act parts of it. Imagine PJ saying something like "Now, you're riding a dinosaur's nostrils. Act that. GO!" Seriously, what personal experience are you supposed to draw from in a scene like that?
Jack Black: "You can trust me, I'm a movie producer." ZING.
Yeah, that's all I can remember at the moment. But yeah, better than I expected.
