Summary: Alfred F. Jones is not a coward - especially if he can't even say 'hi' to his own boyfriend.
This was not happening. This was not happening.
Alfred F. Jones does not stutter. He does not blush. And, he definitely does not walk away from another person unless he has good reason to. Turning around like a puppy with his tail caught between his legs is not what Alfred was doing. He does not run away from anything - a bullet, a zombie, or even a challenge - because that is not what heroes do. Running away is what cowards do, and if it was one thing Alfred F. Jones knew, it was that he was not a coward.
"Come on, Alfred."
"I can't - I can't do it."
"Alfred."
"I-I can't! I- no! No! No. No. Nonononono."
Pacing frantically while clenching and unclenching his fists, Alfred F. Jones was not nervous, because, again, being nervous was showing weakness. Showing weakness was cowardly. Therefore being nervous meant that you were a coward.
"Alfred, if you just stop pacing and calm down - "
"Matthew, I'll have you know that I am very calm! -"
"Indoor voice, Alfred. Please. Just stop pacing for a sec, would you?"
Alfred stopped a few feet from his twin, his hands finally deciding to ball into fists permanently. He was calm. He was calm. Calm was his middle name. In fact, calm -
"Alfred, you won't lose anything by saying 'hello', you know." Matthew chided, taking his brother out of his reverie. "And besides, he's just over there. Just walk over to him and say 'hello'." He nodded his head toward the direction of the music room where Arthur Kirkland stood outside, chatting with one of the Asian students - Kiku or something - before looking back to see if his brother had regained some of his confidence.
Apparently, he didn't, because Alfred started pacing again.
Matthew sighed. "Look, a 'hello' really won't hurt. I mean, come on. You guys are still friends, aren't you?" His brother only glanced at him, worrying his lower lip, before turning his attention back to his feet.
"Fine. I gotta go anyway. You're on your own, Alfred."
And before he could protest, his brother was gone, and he was alone. Well, not really, since Arthur Kirkland was still standing around the doorway of the music room and that Asian student was talking to someone else.
Here goes nothing.
He walked over to Arthur, willing himself to relax because it was just a hello, it's not as if you're going to ask him out or anything - Alfred shook his head to clear his thoughts and put on the brightest smile he could offer, (which ended up turning into a rather small, shy one with pink dusting his cheeks.)
"Hi, Arthur."

A/N: Totally short drabble-prompt-thing I thought of. Probably going to be more of these drabble-prompt things soon.
