I'm back!

Jan 18, 2007 12:57

Back since yesterday afternoon in fact, but I still felt somewhat out of it. So now that I'm a bit more energetic:

They did find endometriosis on one ovary and the corresponding tube and removed it. Can't remember if he said anything about the peritoneum. I was not that concentrated when the surgeon came and informed me about it! so I have to wait for the appointment with the gynecologist to know exactly the amount of damage and if I have to undergo medical treatment as well. And what are the chances to conceive. That's scheduled for january 26th.

One good thing anyway is that whatever the main outcome is, I'm likely to have less painful periods, something that NEVER happened to me before *celebrates*

Anesthesia is something awful that knocks you out for good for a few hours and then makes you sleep and feel strange for days! I also had the mother of all headaches despite the pain medication, probably because of not eating for more than 24 hours. It's also something that makes the medical team very concerned, in a positive way, about you having gas. I had. Yay.

I'm lucky, though, because they say I recovered quick and let me out of the clinic one day earlier than usually the case. And what's more, I don't have any back or shoulder pain, which could have been caused by the gas they put in the abdominal cavity. I didn't take any pain medication today and don't have any pain, not at the shoulder nor at the (very small) scar areas, and not in the belly :)))

The cats were very happy to see me back and one of them demonstrated it by trying to climb me up last night and trying to rest on my belly. We negotiated for my chest.

Oh, and I wasn't given morphine so I couldn't try to grade under it! Didn't grade after the surgery either, but I did grade before while being given half a Lexomil (a mild sedative). Not sure I felt the difference, but I'll have to look at what I wrote on the essay when I feel like it!

One last thing to celebrate : the surgeons was very nice about the length of the sick leave. He had told me I'd get around one week, and finally I'm at home until february first! This is GREAT :D

Thank you everyone for you very nice words! I'm going to answer you personally, but that will probably take some time - I'm still rather tired.
