This is going to be the gigantic post of doom - sort of all of what I did during, hem, these last two months... Well, not really, but quite!
So, first of all, a great joy: my sister had her baby! Bastien, born in Ottawa on January 20th (he copied Franck's birthday...).
Here's a watercolour of him two months ago
I did it for my mother, who enjoyed it a lot, yay!
It was the first time he held his head by himself. Now he's much bigger, fatter and has folds everywhere. And he smiles all the time! And drools all the time, too. And they've been in France since two months, so that I can dote on my nephew all the time :D
Also, while I was feeling not so creative, I found a non-creative occupation: quietly obsessing about Jake Gyllenhaal - though celebrities fandoms scare me a lot, I must say...
And here are two drawing from photos that came out of it
The first one in ballpoint pen, made at work.
Yes, I made an icon from it. So what! *sheepish look*
I was waiting for students and have the luck to have a well-hidden computer place in my office. I also had essays to grade, so of course I preferred sketching, and graded the essays at the last possible minute.
And the second one made today with the flu, which seems to have put to sleep the part of my brain that thinks too much! For this one, I'm happy enough with myself, so have a teaser.
Swoff from Jarhead, drawn for the drool factor
*lusts some more*
Made with pastels on a too large sheet of black paper, which I love but the scanner hates.
lupinslittlesis, if you're reading this, I was thinking of you while drawing!
Oh, and I also took one day off last week to go to Cannes during the festival. It was quite interesting, in an ethnological sense! But the Cannes festival is definitely the worst place in the world to enjoy cinema. I got to see the top of the head of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Elijah Wood and also Bertrand Delanoë, the Paris mayor, who I fangirl because he's (somewhat, not much) on the left, but more than that because he's gay, out of the closet and the mayor of the biggest city in France. Oh, and I also saw Pedro Almodovar passing by a few feet away from me, and yay! because I fangirl him because he makes great films.
But believe me, people, Cannes is a VERY STRANGE place.
/rambling post of doom!
