busy day.

went to markets in the morning, we had a disagreement about how to get there, emily has always been short when she thinks she's rihgt but Iswea as this trip goes she gets snappier by the day. we found tha mrkets and thery were crazy, insanely busy, we went our separate ways for almost two hours then met at our appointed and ecided we definitely needed aother hour, two hours later we werer done withthe markets. partly because the crowds were dirving us all insane, (I started hissing at slow moving people without realising it) and partly because I was an idiot and got my wallet pick-pocketed. I had it in my back pack that was in my arms almost the whole time, put it in my pocket holding it tight after buying something, and took my hand out of my pocket to flip through a pile of tops, found one i wanted and couldn't buy it cos my wallet was gone. spoot.

After dumping our haul back at the hostel we sallyed forth to the colloseum. The queue was depressingly long so we jumped it by paying lots more money for a guided tour being pushed on us that turned out to be worth it.

in the evening before dinner we went to the spanish steps and the fontana di trevi, all shimmery luminous king neptune by night. emily ate gelati, something she does when she likes a place.

the people who run our hostel are japanese and they were cooking delicious dinner last night, chicken and veggie tempura, mmmmmmm. so emily and i bought heaps of vegetables and rice and fried it all up tonight, it was soooo good. zucchinitastic. annika and andrew had spag bol from a jar, eww what tatseless plebs.

I want to be a vestal virgin. I'm loving the way rome is built on its own ruins, there are bits of column and arches everywhere with houses just built on top and ivy covered crumbling buildings on every corner. love it love it.

Vatican city on the morrow.
