I survived!!!

*happy dance* I survived two of the most stressful weeks ever! March 1st and 2nd was Showcase Seguin, where local businesses gather under the pretense of celebrating Texas Independence, to promote their stores. The week before, we started making our decorations (6 sovereign flags, and 5 of the Texas battle flags). That was also the week my sister, manager, myself, and a temporary employee had to manage both businesses on our own. Everyone else left to Las Vegas for an engraving seminar...for the entire week. We had a wall full of engraving orders, the decorations, and the shipping store to run. To top it off we were laying out and engraving the award plaques for the showcase and making engraved keychains to hand out as promotional prizes. Talk about having to bring our super capes to work everyday! We got it all done though.

The showcase was a blast! After closing the store we joined our boss at the booth and started talking to people about  shipping and engraving. I happened to glance down the isle and saw this dude dressed in a purple spandex super costume (mascot for Anytime Fitness)...I promptly sent a visiting co-worker to get my box. There was no way we were going to be out done by another mascot.

After scaring a few kids and harrassing some people, my other boss unleashed me on the crowd. One row over I ran into the Sonic mascot! I tried to pick a fight with him, but it didn't go well due to my lack of arms. Since we ship for them, we called a truce and decided to go beat up Fitness Guy. So giant slush and Sonic employees in tow, we made for the Anytime Fitness booth, but by the time we got there Fitness Guy had left for the evening. (They told us he would be back the following night, but he never showed. )

I spent the next evening walking amongst the crowd and visiting various booths to take pictures. I checked out the newest model from Ford, the ford Fiesta, and the guy running the booth assured me that with the seats folded down,  I would fit in the trunk. I stalked passed the UPS booth, but everyone ignored me, even though I made a point of staring at them as I passed (which was kinda akward since I my box doesn't have a face either ). I chased a kid down because he said I was weird, then got bored and headed for the bathroom just for something to do. Of course I didn't fit in the regular stalls. All in all it was fun couple of nights and surprisingly, my bosses found the pictures very entertaining.
