anyway, here's the promised comment.
you surprised me!!! i was kind of hoping Dan would come to the rescue [which happened] and then they'd get back together [which happened], but i somehow imagined that by the time Dan got to Nando, he would be almost dead from his wounds and Dan would have to turn him...
ahah, i was nuts, right? i love how in reality, Dan actually thought it was too late, and Nando was already gone.
i really loved the flashback / memory of how Fernando became a Hunter, the detail is just so beautiful and we realise even more how lonely he is, how different he is from other men and women and this puts a new turn on everything that had happened between him and Dan.
you know i don't like Nando too much and that i loved this story so much mostly because of Dan and Dan's character, but this Nando-centric chapter was perfection, i love how you crafted it to reflect the changes in him.
if there's any story that deserves a happy ending, then this is the one. them getting back together made me grin so much, even if i'm not really vested in this pairing haha. they're meant to be. even if not forever, there is something greater about their love, and i kinda felt it.
i love how you added some facts, like mentions of Kalinin and that whole side of the story, even if this was a romance and finding oneself chapter.
i can't wait for the epilogue, but let me just say now that this was one of the best and most extraordinary stories i've read in the fandom.
Oh you don't have to apologise at all. As you can see, life has been very very busy for both of us in recent weeks so we didn't even get to thank you guys for the comments yet.

And I really love how you point out the flashback scene, not many did that even though we thought a whole lot about it. And we hoped that it might get the character another spin and a little more depth/background. And THANK YOU for mentioning the change in Fernando, because we thought for ages about how to make it visible enough.
To be honest, I think if a story ever should end with a character death, it would have been this one. We were just too soft-hearted to go through with it. ^^ But you're right in that they're meant to be. :)
