I love that Pheres is like his mama, I love that Mermeros is a good, wise older brother--I love that Pheres is afraid that he will be like Jason. Kind, thoughtful boy. *squishes him with hugs*

This made me ridiculously happy:

“No, no. I’m afraid not,” Lord Ouroboros seems very awkward, as if he’s not quite used to dealing with those younger than him but is perfectly prepared to force his way through if needs be, “snakes, on the other hand…”

Pheres is sort of afraid of both being like Jason and the disapproval of Jason, if that makes sense? He's quite nervous and confused while Mermeros is a lot more relaxed and calm about things. (I found a odd fondness for ermeros while writing this; I must admit~.)

I had to have Zagreus in there quite a lot! He was originally meant to be in the last scene but then I decided that Medea needed some screentime and so it got switched around a bit. Still, I'm glad that you liked Zagreus' faintly panicked babbling about snakes. <333

I can see where Pheres would be upset by Jason's disapproval--I have family members like that... << It takes a lot of time and energy to convince yourself that their disapproval really doesn't matter.

Mermeros seems like a very Zen sort of chap. I like him. :)

I approve of lots of Zagreus! And lots of Medea, but you can't squeeze everything into a single story. And considering that growing up, Zagreus only had the ghosts of murdered children to play with, one could see where he'd be awkward about talking to an actual not!dead child.

I have this lovely mental image of Zagreus helping someone (don't know who) overcome their fear of snakes and feeding them milk out of a saucer. I am a bit weird!

Mmmm, I know a few girls at school like that... Basically Mermeros is a lot more "eh" but Pheres is a little more nervous and a faint bit more concerned with what people think of him; which makes him a lot more flaily. <33

I might have to do seperate stories with both of them plus Pheres.

And, also, Zagreus was the youngest for quite some time. He probably wouldn't be all that used to actual creatures younger than him, smaller than him and looking at him. XD

Don't worry! I have a odd desire to write something where Mermeros loses his cool in some way; I will always be weirder than you. <33

skjh <33 yes. I think my jason does really mourn them in his own special way, but he would never express it. Beyond thinking "my sons would have been able to kick that douche's ass" XD
