And another thing
Okay, so I try not to get involved in major debates like this, but it's a pretty big thing- to me, at least- and I want to talk about it.
Maybe some of you have heard that the makers of Adventure Time are contemplating making Marceline and Princess Bubblegum a canon couple. This is huge. I mean, if such a popular, well-known, kid-friendly cartoon can have a gay couple and be proud of it, then this would be a huge step forward. I really admire the people behind Andventure Time. They really go above and beyond to hear their fans out and create a good show that lots of people can enjoy, and they definitely arem't afraid to cross some lines to make their show special. And it is; Adventure Time is an amazing show, and it will be close to my heart forever.
I always knew the creators were brave, daring people; and this just proves that they are. By openly supporting a homosexual couple, a huge hurdle will have been jumped by the entertainment society. Sure, Glee has already had a gay couple, and so have many other shows. But a show aimed at kids having a gay couple would really say something about how much we accept gays into our- and our children's- lives.
And don't get me started on the shipping thing; I don't ship Bubblegum/Marceline. I don't ship anything in that show, really. And yeah, it would be really complicated to make a whole new love interest for Finn, give hima new reason for being a knight. But this would still be monumental. So I dunno. Just wanted to throw that out there.
