To me the chapter also was kind of disappointing, if my expectations weren't very low already. I had also hoped for some action, but again there's a lot of side-plot without a point (Minato's backflash, Team Gai).
My impression is that Juugo wants to prevent Orochimaru from taking Sasuke's body. He would not have wanted Kimimaru to be taken by Orochimaru, and he does not want Sasuke to be taken. But maybe I am wrong. (Juugo's logic in this matter is a bit weird.)
the obvious answer, of course, is that everyone in this manga wants to be Hokage.
Lol
(otherwise Kushina's expectations would be creepy.)
At this point of the story I am happy about every successful action of the bad guys. So Black Zetsu was able to steal the Yin half of the Kyuubi - wonderful.
I am pretty certain that ignoring the Sage's tools will contribute to Madara's downfall.
His fighting style is based around having massive amounts of chakra and endurance, but without the kyuubi, he would have to fight in a whole new way. That would be a very interesting challenge to overcome.
I haven't thought about this. It would indeed be interesting. Part of my frustration with the manga is because Naruto is so much overpowered, not just with chakra, but also with plot protection and his Jesus no Jutsu. However, it's also possible that somehow Obito is still alive and that he keeps Madara from succeeding in stealing the kyuubi.
I agree that the Barefoot Person is probably not Kabuto. Otherwise Karin would recognize his chakra. My own speculation: He's the Rikudo. The manga will do another twist and show us that our expectations that he was basically a good person were wrong. (After all, establishing that ninja system was not a good idea.) Also, who else might top Madara as principal villain?

Agreed on the flashback, but I think the Team Gai bit will end up being important, because they found the Sage tools. I'm guessing they'll arrive with them in the nick of time. The sudden comedy bit was a little abrupt, considering the main action is Naruto dying, but I do think it will turn out to be relevant soon.
My impression is that Juugo wants to prevent Orochimaru from taking Sasuke's body.
It was chapters and chapters ago, so I don't totally remember, but I think Juugo's thing was he wanted to fulfill Kimimaro's wishes or something now that Kimimaro is dead? Or something? And remember, Kimimaro wanted Orochimaru to take over his body and was unhappy that he was too ill to be useful. The impression I got from this chapter is that Juugo is debating: he knows that Orochimaru possessing Sasuke is what Kimimaro wanted, but then Karin will try to prevent it, and maybe he isn't sure what he himself should do about it.
(otherwise Kushina's expectations would be creepy.)
Yeah, I took that part as a joke because otherwise it's really pretty bizarre and creepy.
However, it's also possible that somehow Obito is still alive and that he keeps Madara from succeeding in stealing the kyuubi.
Yeah, I was thinking that maybe Obito's consciousness being gone will turn out to be just for dramatic tension, and at the last moment he'll suddenly summon his willpower and stop Black Zetsu or something. That would be a bit cheesy though.
My own speculation: He's the Rikudo. The manga will do another twist and show us that our expectations that he was basically a good person were wrong.
That would actually be amazing and would be a plot twist I never saw coming. I honestly don't even have a theory of my own...I can't think of any character who seems to make sense.
