Team 7 was sitting at the clearing where they first started their careers as genin. It has been a year since Sasuke was finally dragged home and served his time on house arrest. Kakashi told them to reintroduce themselves like they did the first time since they haven't seen each other for four years.

"...And I don't have a dream. It's more of an ambition- goals. To revive my clan," Sasuke looked straight into Naruto's eyes. " and to become hokage."

There was tense silence in the clearing as the two boys stared at each other. Black eyes were daring the other to back down, to deny him this dream too. Wide blue eyes kept looking tor a hint of deception or jokes (Which is impossible. Uchiha? Jokes? )hidden within the inky depths ( ... )

Sai's ink creatures are very powerful. However, there might come the day when he doesn't have any ink or paper with him, and he doesn't want it to catch him unprepared.

"So wait... let me get this straight..." Sakura mused over her drink. "You joined ROOT... WHY?!"

"It was really quite simple." Sai replied. "My jutsu of choice relies on having both ink and a drawing surface. My allegiance with the ANBU made sure that I finally had both of those, literally on my body, at all times."

Sakura blinked.

"You mean, you did it for the tattoo?"

"Precisely." Sai nodded with his trademark smile. "Any self-respecting shinobi would have surely done the same."

After that, Sakura decided it was in her best interest not to ever let Sai see the little flower tramp stamp she got in the Land of Waves.

Lol, absolutely not what I was expecting when writing the prompt, but all the funnier for it. Sai joining ROOT just because he wants his tattoo XD That's too hilarious. Thanks, Anon!

Sai did not believe in luck. He never had. Trusting events or circumstances to arrange themselves in one's favor was quite foolish, in his opinion; far more sensible to plan ahead and be prepared ( ... )

Naruto was convinced. He had made his yearly resolution, and come hell or high water, he was going to do whatever it took to make it come true. Yes. No matter what, he was going to see Sasuke in a skirt ( ... )
