As silent as a leaf on the wind, Haku moved along the road. She dressed in the simple boy-cut blue yukata she wore when not on 'active duty' and appeared to any who passed by the son of a farmer or fisher, perhaps, returning home from his travels. That was close enough, Haku was on her way to the Water Country, but was only just now passing through the Fire Country. By her knowledge of the world, she thought that the village of the Hidden Leaf must be nearby - every few hours she spotted a boarder guard among the trees.
Though Haku's heart longed to go check up on Naruko, and see if that other ninja from the village had gotten treatment enough to be saved, she was on a time limit and that was a can of worms she couldn't afford to open. She allowed herself to be seen by enough border guards that her vanishing would be no doubt noticed, as would any deviation to search for the village. So Haku stuck to the main road, watching the watchers in silence.
