Sakurai: *folds some origami for her*
Sakurai: *only knows cranes, boats, and pigs. ...but is really GOOD at the pigs!* Shizuya-san taught me that one. ^^
Sachiko: *half-smile* It's cute. *means it*
Sakurai: Tonton would always eat them though. ...I'm not sure if that was a sign of jealousy or cannibalism.
Sachiko: *blinks* Can't really say. Maybe he's just being a critic? *yes, is attempting to tease* >>;
Sakurai: Eeeh? *looks at his paper pigs with a defensive pout* Psh. Pig wouldn't know art if it slapped him. ....Uncultured swine. *laaaaame joke, Sakurai*
Sachiko: *chuckles*
Sakurai: *glad that bad joke didn't get him a distasteful look anyway, and smiles a little himself* Do you know any origami, Sachiko-chan?
Sachiko: I know how to do a crane, and that's it. Origami, the making of it, never really interested me. *was always more interested in training*
Sakurai: Well, origami is kinda training..... Shishou ordered me once to do an entire thousand paper cranes. -__-
Sachiko: Eeh? Really? Why?
Sakurai: Training. ^^; Medic training specifically. Doctors doing surgery have to have very nimble fingers with precise control. Also, some surgeries can take hours upon end, and a mind able to keep sharp and focused on a tediously repetitive task is sometimes necessary. When you're working on someone's insides, you can't allow your attention to slide or it could mean the person's life.
Sachiko: Ah. *considers this a bit* So... What's it like, being a mednin?
Sakurai: The hardest, most stressful and rewarding job of my life. ^_^; It takes a LOT of training and book study, but...well, I've always been a bookworm anyway. >> It'd be a lot easier if it was just a doctor, but to be a ninja as well means you've got to keep up physical training to be useful on the field.
Sachiko: *nods* ...we could train sometime, if we can get our schedules to coincide.
Sakurai: *blinks and then grins* I'd like that.
Sachiko: *halfsmiles again* Speaking of training... How are you with projectiles?
Sakurai: Shuriken?
Sachiko: Shuriken, kunai, senbon, anything that is pointy and can be used as a distance weapon.
Sakurai: Pretty good. I mean...not Tentsuke-level or anything, but good.
Sachiko: I doubt anyone could be at his level. I was just curious, mostly. He's got this---setup---behind his house that is... There really aren't any words. And because it's mechanized, even using Sharingan doesn't give me too much of an advantage.
Sachiko: But yet, it's still kind of fun. And you do learn how to avoid "becoming a porcupine", as he likes to say.
Sakurai: An obstacle course?
Sachiko: I suppose that works. I call it "Pointy Hell."
Sakurai: "Avoid becoming a porcupine", huh? So it's a sort of dodging exercise?
Sachiko: Either avoid 'em or use your own weapons to knock them off course. In the long run, I find avoiding them a bit easier.
Sakurai: *looks very pleased with the idea of doing this* That would be great medic training too.
Sachiko: Yay puncture wounds.
Sakurai: No, I mean the dodging part. ^^ Not the possible-healing part.
Sachiko: *tries not to smile knowingly at the thought of Sakurai facing Tentsuke's backyard*
Sachiko: *looks at him* But projectiles could be something to work on. I know you've learned that strength from Tsurude-sama, but given your specialty, it's more important to make sure you survive a battle more than others. And the more people you take down from a distance, the better, right?
Sakurai: *foregos mentioning Tsurude-shishou has given him LOTS of training in dodging, but... She has a good point on perfecting his projectile* You're right. That would be good.
Sachiko: *nods and looks at the sky, wrapping her arms around her knees* Pity I can't get a little practice of my own in.
Sakurai: Why not?
Sachiko: Well, not here, anyway. Be a bit too tempting to try the ricochet-shots I've seen Tentsuke-sensei do.
Sakurai: Oh. *looks around* ...As interesting and cool as that'd be, I guess it's not a good idea to practice where national dignitaries could get caught by a stray shot. >> Even if I were there to heal them right after.
Sachiko: *tilts her head* I wonder if I could make it look like an accident...
Sakurai: Of course it would be an accident. But I doubt they'd care that you chose to use the Daimyo's palace for--- *blinks* Wait. Are you talking about someone in specific now? >>
Sachiko: *face is innocently bland* Of course not. That would imply premeditation.
Sakurai: *isn't sure whether to believe that fully or not* ........ *times like this, Sakurai thinks Sachiko and Kakami-sensei seem a lot alike* >_>
Sachiko: *lifts eyebrow and looks a bit amused*
Sakurai: *sigh* Just promise me you won't kill anyone. Scartch that. Just don't get caught. Ibiki-san will have your hide.
Sachiko: Ibiki's the reason I'm not going to do anything. That, and, I'm more worried about Tsurude-sama wanting my hide. *quiet sigh* If I make it through the upcoming chuunin exam, which depends on if Tentsuke-sensei thinks we're ready for the exam, I stand a good shot of making rank this time. I don't want to screw that up because a bunch of civilian males were irritating me.
Sakurai: *small grin* So it really just depends on if the rest of your little team is ready. What's it like being a part of Konoha Corps now~?
Sachiko: *glances at him* I'll let you know. So far all we've done together is team stuff.
Sachiko: It's kinda weird, sometimes. Being on a new team. Half the point is to bond, but... They aren't you and Naruko. And I'm pretty sure Konohako and Moegi miss their bookworm-friend. Can't remember the name.
Sakurai: Udon...? Sounded like a sort of noodle.
Sachiko: Probably.
Sakurai: Well, nothing ever says you're stuck with the same team your whole life or career. It's good for you and them.
Sachiko: *not quite sure how to respond to that, 'cause Team 7 has so much history...*
Sakurai: *realizes how that also may have sounded with their history* ...er...not that I meant....
Sachiko: It's all right.
Sakurai: ...........I do miss all those times we had together. You, me, Naruko, Kakami-sensei...
Sachiko: *nods* ......we did have some good times, didn't we.
Sakurai: *nods* ...and not-so-good. But... *faint grin* I'm kinda glad about that. Because...we were still together throughout them. One way or another. *grins a little more* We still are.
Sachiko: Yeah, I guess we are. *smiles a little back*
