Tsurude's announcement.]]
Three days was a lot of time to think, especially if you didn't do anything else. Kureno was rather talented at thinking, being the rational person he was and meditating regularly. Only two or three things in his life had ever taken him more than a day to sort out, and that included the fact that he concentrated on them entirely. And any time after spending so much time in such focus, he always came out with a decision that changed his life in some directional way. Although, in this instance, for the first time it didn't seem his decision was about changing his life but rather...
keeping it the same.
And that's how he came to find himself standing at the foot of Asuka's porch, looking for the one person he thought he'd never want to talk to again. His fingers tightened on the envelope in his hand, its contents creaking between the paper as he pinched harder. The only thing standing between him and following through with his choice now were the stairs and a door; simple, even minuscule nuisances that didn't even take a brain to overcome. But unfortunately Kureno did have a brain, and right now it was filling him with doubts that he'd hoped wouldn't come until later--like at least another five minutes.
With a defeated-sounding sigh, the man turned to sit down on the bottom step, figuring he may has well make himself more comfortable if he was going to use these passing minutes to muster back his resolve. He wasn't sure why this was so hard again all of a sudden. All the things holding him back now were all things he'd already mulled over and decided had to be fixed instead of left alone. Repairing his friendship with Asuka was not going to be easy. After all, he'd been so cold to her before, it was foolish of him to think this would go over without any resentment. He hadn't talked to her in so long and hadn't made it any secret with anyone that he was deliberately avoiding her. There was a good chance he'd lost her respect and acknowledgment all together; there was a good chance by the end of this he'd wish he'd never come at all.

But no, he had to try; or at least get some answers. If this didn't turn into a fresh start, then at least it could be some much-needed closure. He owed at least that much to both her and himself. This had to be done.

He considered doing it tomorrow instead.
