HAHAHA
So, I like checking the Japanese covers for translations of English novels on amazon.co.jp (what, it's free, harmless entertainment). Guess who has three books out in Japanese now? Jim Butcher! Check out this cover for the
first Dresden Files book:
It's... very cyberpunk-ish, isn't it...
At least it's an improvement over the original cover....?!?! Maybe? (I think they're actually redoing the covers now because some of them were kind of
awful.) Still, it's interesting to look at and I think there's more variety. Sure, you have super-anime-style David Weber (
seriously), but
Terry Goodkind's stuff gets some interesting covers, and even David Eddings' new, lousy series gets some
awesome covers. I mean, I don't mind Darrell K. Sweet, but EVERY epic fantasy cover is a bit much (or at least he's on all the Robert Jordans and all the L.E. Modesitts (and that's a lot).. am I missing anybody? Oh yeah he also did covers for Piers Anthony and David Farland too).
PS: This song is hilarious, with super-nerd Luka shutting down every single attempt Gakupo makes. "I want to say how charming you are~" "This isn't your blog!" I still don't know what Detteiu means.. that's probably for the best, though.
