Analyzing Garbage
It is garbage day in the city. I went to cafe 55 for my traditional Saturday indulgeance of a Ham and Cheese Crossaint, hash browns, and Dragonfruit Vitamin water, a city dweller's other addiction (besides cigarettes and iPods). On the way back, I noticed a can of tuna that someone had thrown out in the clear garbage bags that line 55th St. between 2nd and 3rd Avenue where my building is.
I thought, "Hey! I think I threw out that can of tuna because I didn't have miracle whip for a sandwhich!"
And with that, I resolved that I had indeed made my mark on the Godforsaken city.
Karma Chameleon
I found an envelope on the sidewalk today adressed to someone named "Katherine Jane Fedder." Since it was unsealed and did not have a street address, I opened it. I still don't know if I opened it at the prospect of a seemingly victimless money stealing plot, but I digress.
The card read "Happy Bat-Mitzvah to a Wonderful Daughter!" How New York, I thought to myself. What's more New York is the 175 dollar check that was addressed to Ms. Feder.
Feeling noble, I looked up the Stamford Connecticut address and called the Toriellos by whom the check was penned.
No answer.
Will Kevin track down these evasive Jews and return their check?
Stay tuned.
