Two weeks?
Wow, I was looking up Lost and talking with Satai last time? That feels like months ago!
These two weeks...
- Went to the Deutsche Bank Championship with dad Friday of the Labor Day weekend. First time I've ever been to golf tournament and first live professional sporting event since Red Sox when I was 12 or 13 (and I live a mile from Gilette =P). It was a lot of fun and Hurricane Earl wasn't too bad. It only began raining after the group we were following (Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk... all three of which made the Top 70 cut for the next round which started Thursday) finished up. We saw some amazing shots. The first shot of the group's I saw was Bubba hitting it out of a sand trap onto the green from like 200 yards away. All three birdied that Par 5 (think it was the 18th hole) and it was awesome. Such a fun day. If dad wasn't so sore and Hurricane Earl wasn't around (didn't matter much, just delayed things), we would've went Saturday too. But that was a great day.
- Saving Bacon, a game Ayvuir made with tons of board and GameFAQs references, and Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage, thank to Ayuyu doing a playthrough topic, have taken up a ton of time. I WILL finish Aidyn Chronicles before I quit this time so I never feel the pull to play again, but already my attention drifts. It's a new thing every week.
- Majora's Mask creepypasta. Started on /x/, talked about on B8 a bunch... just freaking weird. It's a great effort since videos are provided and it definitely is creepy... but I've been reading some older theories and observations on Majora's Mask, particularly the Stone Tower Temple's existence and why, to be even creepier since these are things actually in the game (and not hacked and spliced together) and carry deeper meaning in game history. Such subtlety. I love how most things on the side in Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time aren't spelled out for the player. "OH hey look att his thing! Here's why it's here!" No, it doesn't happen. But their history is still referenced in textures, minor character dialogue, and subtle clues. It's so much fun. Maybe it's the Lost fan in me looking for clues where there aren't any still.
- Internet nostalgia. Between a topic talking about users past and one about what handles we've had on the internet in the past, I've been HUGELY nostalgic. AOL Chatrooms, Everquest, Atlantica Online, Board Eight 2... *sigh* Nostalgia rules my world. Names to remember: SineNomine, Amazing Telephone, Lidia, Elia, PandoraX, jyynx, Pikaness
- Adding music. "Bed Intruder Song" is still the thing right now, but Ace of Base might be back on the rise since the nienties. Also, The Guess Who sang "No Time Left For You" okay? Stop looking it up every month and remember it!
