Le Buff, Saison 6

Apologies to readers who tire of these Buffy-rants. You have to understand, I'm watching a very cultish tv-show entirely by myself. I have other TV-projects on the go - House with my mom, Queer as Folk with my roommate - and it's really much easier when you have someone to share the experience with.

I think that this show is taking over my entire existence, much like Sex and the City did for those three years of Undergrad where I'd catch myself narrating my own life SJP-stylz while strutting down Bloor St in my imaginary manolo's.

I am watching Season 6 and I think it's my favorite so far. So much so that yesterday in choir, we were singing a song with these words in Latin: "Where there is love, God is there. Love has brought us here. Let us rejoice and be glad." In order to emotionally connect to this liturgical text, I imagined myself trying to urge Buffy to see how beautiful life can be. I really feel for the girl. I mean, God. Doesn't she ever get a break?

All in all, I think the themes of this season are simple and really powerful: what's the value of life on Earth? And also, this season's Villains make me want to die of happiness.

And speaking of Dying of Happiness, I saw Buffy the Musical yesterday. Yes. I know.

I am mildly concerned about how huge a geek I'm becoming.
