I had joined a group on here called "non-ugly fats." I thought they were one of those groups trying to teach people to revise their idea of beauty. "please leave the internet", they totally reveal how vulnerable they are.
My answer to such:
"Hmm. Interesting. Are you saying that if I *stay* on the internet, then I'm actually BOTHERING a stupid, self-absorbed, immature little twit like you, and ALL I have to do is NOTHING? Wow. You actually have to do work to bother me, and all I have to do is just stay here. Hmm.

Such people do need to be taught rather than to simply be punished.
But IMHO, sometimes there comes a time when an education is best effected by a judicious application of negative reinforcement for bad behaviour.
Pointing out that they don't get to make the rules is hardly an abusive slap. You're not quashing dissent, by simply owning your own right to reciprocity.
Pointing out that it's their *choice* how to respond to you is simply a lesson in problem ownership.

Poor poor little savvy internet baby.
Look. If you don't like what happens when you insult someone, the answer is simple.
Don't do it.
This never would have happened if you'd just kept your immature little mouth shut, and just resisted the urge to say something wicked on the net that you wouldn't to this lady's face. And you SURE as hell wouldn't lecture me like this to mine.
So tough.
Take it bitch.
