*grin* Thank you! I wanted it to be an Adventurous Romp, and I hope I succeeded with that.

Dirigibles are a lot of fun to say, I've learned. DIRIGIBLES!

Wonderful, delightful. Airships!~ leering Satyrs Camels. And most of all a sense of fun and adventure and that terrific "Lewis" voice in the asides and the sly humor and the good sense of fun and adventure. the thought of a Camel licking High King Peter the Lamed will keep me going for a long time to come.

Things like this: Edmund, now recovered in all but mood - for the cordial cannot see to inborn quirks of character - raised a hand for silence. This was met by more noise, naturally, and
“Pensawuffinsten,” Cor muttered.
“What?” Aravis asked.
“Depends on what’s more interesting,” Corin translated. Or bread and butter and just.. oh everything is so delightful. The wit and love that pervades every moment of this is great. Lune, by the way, is wonderfully drawn and Peter and Edmund too, for all that they are in it so little. Husik and Diya are just terrific and of course the Queens and Aravis are terrific. A wonderful, delightful story. The very best sort of FUN cracky thing that Narnia fic can be. Steampunk Narnia

Thank you! I finally figured out how to combine Narnia and dirigibles -- hope it was worth waiting for!

The bread and butter fixation, by the way, comes from a RL friend of mine who seriously cannot be trusted around the stuff.

I'd never thought I see the day when camels have arrived in Narnia. But I think it fascinating for the Narnians to see a beast such as that, especially the Talking Animals. And lovely how you make use of those modern objects found in a medieval kingdom such as Narnia (I'm still trying to picture a Beaver using a sewing machine). And hooray for reparing the plumbing!

Aravis is so very clever! I love how she tried to persuade the boys to go to the Cair on their own and as expected, had to end up handing them a literal order from King Lune to do so. :-)

As for the rest of the story and adventure, it was delightful and funny! How nice it is to see the women (and Mermaids) coming to the rescue for once, and not the other way around. And of course, there should be an airship in Narnia. It's not hard to picture such a Victorian/steampunk vessel hovering about there, bringing all sorts of mischief and adventure to everyone.

The wonky anachronistic tech in LW&W makes more sense once you've got the backstory from MN, I think - the Victorian Age prided itself on being one of great modernity and invention, so it stands to reason that in Narnia there'd be innovations, and not just a backward slide into Medieval Fantasy Stasis, yanno?

Thank you so much for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, man, that is just FUN. Beginning to end!

had gained a level of fame for perfecting the sewing machine

Oh, Mystery Writer, you have WON MY HEART with that single line!

Husik, who had helplessly fallen in both mental and physical lust with Diya during the first half-hour of discussion, showed his reverence for the lady by arguing with her on every point he could find.

And that is quite marvelous.

Actually, all of it is marvelous, with the steam-punky Satyrs and Dwarfs, and the fabulous Calormene lady engineer, and the Balloon, and sending the twins off to badger Peter, and Lucy and Susan needing no escort and then all three of them saving Edmund from the pirates!

Great fun! Loved it.

Thank you! I'd never done a fic exchange before and I'm thrilled that everyone liked it!

As soon as I knew I was doing steampunk engineers (who I sorta based on M5 industries, you know, the Mythbusters team) I had to blame the cuckoo clocks and sewing machines on them. It made things fit.
