Lovely, lovely, lovely! Susan and the Doctor traveling and seeing and living. I haven't actually seen an episode of Doctor Who but know enough to thoroughly enjoy this story. I love how Susan can still have adventures and with the Doctor, it helps her to heal and move on and remember Narnia and her family and her own experiences there. And then, she can begin to learn to enjoy her own world a little more now.

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it- Narnia and Doctor Who are (obviously) two favorites of mine, and somehow it's always just been so easy for me to see Susan fitting into the Doctor's strange little sphere.

This is wonderful. There's a wonderful sense of agelessness to it -- we don't know when either of them is their lives, which gives it a delightful off kilter feeling. The post TLB Susan is such a terrific foil for the Doctor. I love that in the end she is living in Polly Plummer's cottage and that odd things are finding their way to her and surely Susan and Sarah Jane are very, very good friends. Susan re-discovering her warrior self is just an amazing part of this. I love too how the Tardis picks up her dreams and builds an almost but not quite Narnia and how for each of them, they have the name of a place it hurts so very much to say, and it appears in a language that does not translate.

This is a wonderful story. Beautifully done.

Thank you, as always. Susan post-LB fits so very well into the Doctor's crazy, madcap life, and I think she is a brilliant foil for him. She is, I think (or would be), much more of an equal to him than any of his other companions, except perhaps River (and she doesn't really count- different timestreams and all) and, honestly, I couldn't resist. There's just so much room to develop and play in the Doctor's world, and Susan fills that space so well.

Susan senses the Oncoming Storm... oh, lovely, so lovely.

There are so many little parts in this that I adore. The comparisons of Narnian written language and Gallifreyan, and the comparison of the two places overall - how they don't exist but used to, and how neither can forget or, in some way, forgive themselves. The Doctor looking like Edmund for a moment, I can see that so clearly.

The idea that Susan's travels give her the peace needed to forgive herself and live with her memories instead of, in a way, dying of them, is so very sweet. Thank you, mystery writer. I adore this.

Thank you so much! There have always been so many lovely ways Susan fits into DoctorWho!fandom, to me, that it seemed a shame and a waste not to blend the two. And with Doctor Who there's so much room to play, to expand, and that was so much fun to do with Susan. The languages, the new worlds... all ways for Susan and the Doctor to rediscover themselves and find new worlds and new ways of living with the old ones.

First just let me say: I ADORED THIS PROMPT. IT WAS PERFECT AND LOVELY AND YOU USED A QUOTE FROM ANNE CARSON'S TRANSLATION OF SAPPHO HOW DID YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE ANNE CARSON.

So, really, you gave me the means, motive, and opportunity to write the story I've always wanted to write but never quite had the guts to, before. Susan and the Doctor work SO WELL TOGETHER and I loved to chance to show that, show how they come into each other's orbits and change and heal and are better.

Thank you so, so much, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

BACK AS PROMISED, NO LESS CAPSLOCKY.

ANNE CARSON IS THE BEST SAPPHO TRANSLATOR EVER WE MUST TALK MORE ABOUT THIS.

ASKDJA;LSKDJAK;LSDJAL;SKDJASKDJ;ALSKJD AGAIN, OMG.

Things I loved even more upon reread!
-IT IS NOT CLEAR WHICH DOCTOR THIS IS BUT IT IS CLEARLY A NEW DOCTOR WE DON'T KNOW YET AND SUSAN THE GRANDDAUGHTER AND THE GHOST AND OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD.

NEITHER TRANSLATE OR SPEAK THE WORDS OF THEIR HOMES BUT THEY LOOK AT THEM TOGETHER.

SUSAN COMING INTO HER OWN AGAIN. SUSAN GETTING OLDER AND HARDER AND SOFTER AND HAPPIER.

The days here in Polly Plummer’s old cottage are slower than they were when she traveled by police box, but Susan doesn’t mind, at first. And by the time she does mind, they begin find her, all of the things on Earth that, like her, are not truly of it. They come at night, on wing and water and land and it is not long before she takes to disappearing from the cottage for stretches of time, and if she is on Earth during these periods, it is not within the scope of human knowledge to find her ( ... )

Oh my God, it's you again! Again, I'm so, so SO glad that you enjoyed this story. I so hoped you would!

AND ANNE CARSON IS AMAZING. SHE MAKES ME FEEL SO- SO- SO... YES.

Just... just... SUSAN AND THE DOCTOR ARE SO GOOD FOR EACH OTHER BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH LIKE: YES, THIS HURTS, BUT REALLY GUYS, UNIVERSE TO EXPLORE.

Sorry for the capslock explosion. Just... so glad you like it!
