The bastard did originally up and die, but not until after Edmund and Peter had been pitted against each other in a duel to the death! (They didn't figure out Jadis was evil until, like, six months later in the original. Silly children) And Susan was very worried about hallucinating. She can't take care of her family if she's crazy, now can she?

Do you think it needs and AU warning? Then sure!

WOW. This is so cool. I can totally get that after their initial fascination, after going and experiencing how harsh Narnia is, Susan and Peter would decide to leave and never come back, protect themselves and their siblings from that place. KING JADIS WOW WOW WOW. oh man, I would love to read the version of this where Edmund and Lucy show up and there is major plot!!! even the brief thing you described sounds amaaaazing. anyway. I love this, it is creepy (esp. King Jadis, and Peter's mysterious wound), it is full of mystery and potential, and above all it is awesome. swordfighting is not about honor! daaaang.

Susan and Peter's number one priority is making sure that Edmund and Lucy don't get caught up in it. It's their responsibility, after all, to keep younger siblings away from crazy power-hungry and somewhat pedophiliac and possibly-imaginary monarchs.

I'm thinking of just putting up the full story's summary on my lj, because I don't know if I would ever finish writing it. But trust me, Edmund totally kicks ass.

This is totally it, in fact it's the main theme I keep noticing when I watch LWW. Peter's refrain is "we just want our brother back" and Susan is even willing to give it up to the wolves on the ice river just so they can all of them leave. So if Peter and Susan found it first... they'd definitely protect their younger siblings, absolutely.

Awesome! I'd love to read it. Haha, and that is as it should be! when does Edmund not kick ass, I ask. :D

This is so cool! Excellent idea!

I must admit, my subconscious makes the Winter King look like a cross between Jadis and Jareth.

I do want to see the younger siblings, though. I mean, I want to see them all go back, and Susan and Peter trying to protect Edmund and Lucy from him, and everything else. It would be so awesome!

I think the Winter King's pants are a little less tight than Jareth's but otherwise you're probably not far off.
