Chapter 3
Well I finished this chapter yesterday, and I'm going to post it today. Yay for me! I actually like it it's very good. Well her it is enjoy!
Chapter 3
Caleb took Lea back into the hospital. A nurse was in Riann’s room getting her ready to leave. Lea sat down beside Taylor and looked at Pagan.
“Pagan, Tay, I’ve decide that you two will stay at the manor with Ri. It’s the safest thing to do. You’ll be safe there.”
“What!” Pagan asked, her voice in shock, “You can’t send us with her and you shouldn’t stay here by yourself.”
“ I’ll be safer than you guys,” she argued. Lea looked at Pagan and Taylor with pleading eyes then sighed, “We’ll talk about it later.”
Lea walked inside Riann’s room and talked to her doctor. Five minutes later she came back out with Riann’s prescriptions.
“You guys, I’m going on ahead. Pagan, Taylor, I expect you to get Riann to Salem as soon as possible,” she said, as she walked towards the door.
“Lea! Wait, Tyler and I will go with you. We can have Pogue go with the girls to make sure they get there all right,” Caleb said standing up, “We can get Reid on the way to the drug store.”
Lea turned around and looked at Caleb and smiled, “Thanks, I’d appreciate that.”
“So you guys ever been to Salem?”
“Nope,” Tyler replied.
“You’re in for a trip then,” Lea said opening the door to her mustang. She got in as Tyler got in the back and Caleb to the passenger seat. Thirty minutes later she was at the school and heading to her room to get the girls things that she had already packed for them. Caleb and Tyler followed her until she stopped.
“Tyler, go see if Reid’s in your room and whether he is or isn’t pack something to change into and something to sleep in for the both of you and whatever else you might need. You guys probably won’t be back tonight,” she said and started walking again. Caleb followed her to her room and helped her get the four small bags. When they got back outside they found Tyler and Reid waiting on them outside her
mustang.
“One of you might want to call Pogue and ask him if he needs anything,” Lea said as she and Caleb placed the bags inside the trunk as Tyler and Reid got into the back seat. When they were finished Lea and Caleb got in the car and headed for the drugstore before they left town. When they reached the drugstore Lea got out and hurriedly went inside. While she was in the drugstore Caleb looked through the rearview mirror and saw a figure in the alley behind them. When Tyler noticed he was looking behind him he looked back also and saw the same figure.
“Tyler,” Caleb said, “Do you see what I see?”
“Chase,” Tyler replied as Reid looked back and saw nothing. Caleb shook out of his trance and looked at Tyler who was looking at him.
“What the hell are you two looking at?” Reid asked looking back behind him to the alley.
“Nothing,” Tyler replied, “We just thought we saw someone in the alley.”
Lea came back out and got in the car, “What’s wrong with you two?”
“Nothing,” Caleb replied, smiling at her.
“Okay, did one of you call Pogue?”
“No,” Caleb said, getting out his phone, “But I will.”
Caleb dialed Pogue’s number and waited for him to pick up. When he did Caleb quickly explained the situation and asked Pogue if he needed anything. Pogue told him what ever he could find that was clean. Five minutes later they were at Pogue’s apartment. Caleb had went up to it while Lea, Tyler, and Reid waited outside.
“Lea,” Reid started, “Why are you sending the others back to Salem?”
Lea paused, dreading having to answer the question, “Because Reid, Riann wasn’t put in the hospital because of a health problem. It was something someone did to her. And this someone is seeking revenge on our families. We can’t stop them alone and we can’t endanger other people. I’m going to talk to Caleb and explain to him everything. I really don’t know when though. I’m going to stay only to keep that person for finding them. I know they’ll be safe and cared for.”
Caleb arrived back at Lea’s car and got in, “Now to my place?”
“Sure,” Lea replied looking at Reid in the rearview mirror, “Show me the way.”
They started to drive and made it to Caleb’s house in less than ten minutes.
“You want to come in?” he asked, looking at the others.
“Sure,” Reid said, getting out behind Tyler.
Lea sighed and slowly got out and followed the others inside the manor. She was behind Caleb and in front of Tyler. Caleb stopped and looked into the sitting room and saw his mother was in there, with something in her hand that surprised Caleb.
“Mother,” he said, as she turned around at the sound of his voice. She set the glass of water down and walked over to him.
“Caleb,” she said, getting up, “And Tyler and Reid. How nice to you both of you. And who is this?”
“Mother,” Caleb said turning to Lea, “This is our friend Lea Danforth. Lea this is my mother.”
“Nice to meet you Mrs.Danvers,” Lea said stepping out from behind Caleb and shaking his mother’s hand, “You have a beautiful home.”
“Don’t praise me. Caleb’s the one who keeps it clean. After my husband died it became a little to much to care for,” she smiled and looked at Caleb, “I don’t know what I’d do with that him.”
“Mother, I came by to get some things. We are all staying over at Lea’s house in Salem tonight because one of her other friends who is also friends with us just got out of the hospital.”
“Well then off you go to get your things,” Mrs. Danvers smiled shooing Caleb upstairs, “ Would you three like something to drink? Sit, sit.”
“Water,” Tyler and Reid said in unison.
“Umm, water,” Lea, said quietly.
“I’ll be right back then,” Mrs.Danvers smiled.
Reid got up and walked over to a stuffed cheetah and ran his hand down its neck. Tyler looked at the clock and began to sigh.
“Did you notice what she was drinking Reid?” he asked.
“Water. Yeah it’s noticeable ‘cause it’s clear ‘Baby Boy’,” Reid said, stating the obvious.
“Here we go,” Mrs. Danvers, said coming back into the room and setting down the tray in front of Lea. Reid came back and sat down next to Lea and smirked.
“What?” Lea asked, looking at Reid who shrugged.
“Tyler, dear how is your father?” Mrs. Danvers’ asked taking a sip of her own glass of water.
“Fine,” Tyler replied, “He’s working hard on a case in Salem and is really busy. But last time I talked to him he said he was thinking about sending Rachel to Spencer’s”
“Oh good, she’d love it.”
Caleb walked into the sitting room and sat down on the other side of Lea. She looked at him and smiled.
“What are we talking about?” Caleb asked.
“I was just asking Tyler how his father was?”
“Really,” Caleb replied, “Tyler did it ever occur to you that your dad lives in Salem.”
“Yeah, I just said that,” Tyler replied.
“And where are we about to go?”
“Sal… Oh I get it. I could go have breakfast with dad tomorrow,” Tyler laughed.
“Your dad lives in Salem?” Lea asked looking at Tyler, “What’s his name?”
“Leo Sims. He’s a lawyer there.”
Lea thought for a moment, “Oh yeah, I know your dad. He’s really nice. He and my dad are pretty good friends.”
“Cool,” Tyler replied.
“Maybe we should be heading out,” Caleb said, getting up from his seat.
“Yes Caleb right we should be heading to Salem,” Lea replied.
They all got up and headed to the front door. Mrs. Danvers’ hugged them all bye and held Caleb back a little longer.
“Caleb don’t make the mistake with her you made with Sarah. Be cautious up there and if you have any trouble call Leo. Please?”
“I will mother,” he said reassuring her. He kissed her on the cheek and walked down to Lea’s car.
‘You’re really close with your mother aren’t you?” Lea asked as he got in.
“Kind of, “He replied buckling his seat belt.
No one talked for the rest of the ride and when they reached Lea’s house all three boys were awe struck.
“Wow, your home is,” Tyler, stated looking up at the windows.
“Huge,” Lea finished, “Yeah, I know. 16 bedrooms, 10 baths, and not to mention the Olympic pool, tennis court, a half soccer field, theater, and equestrian center. Yeah it’s huge.”
“You have an Olympic sized pool in you backyard?” Reid asked looking at her, disbelief all over his face.
“Yeah, it’s actually an indoor heated pool. Very nice. We enjoy it in the winter.”
They walked inside and went upstairs, were Lea showed them their rooms. Caleb was right beside her, Tyler across the hall from his, and Reid right beside Tyler. Pogue would get the room nest to Caleb and the other girls were on the other side of Lea. On room separated Riann and Taylor’s rooms from Tyler and Reid’s.
Lea left the boys to get settled in their rooms and changed into a racer-back tank before heading downstairs to the kitchen . When she reached it she saw her father along with Mr. Sims at the kitchen table.
“Dad,” she said nodding in their direction, “Uncle Leo. Dads we have some guest. You don’t know but Riann’s been in the hospital and she, Taylor, Pagan are staying her while I go back to school.”
‘Oh,” she said pausing looking at Tyler’s father, “Uncle Leo, Tyler is upstairs. Thought you’d like to know.”
“Thank you Lea,” Mr. Danforth said looking back at her as she got a bottle of water from the fridge.
“Really?” Leo asked taking off his glasses, “Are the others here as well?”
“Yes sir. Caleb and Reid. Pogue’s coming in with Riann, Taylor and Pagan.”
“Lea, do they know about you and your,” Leo asked, looking at her with stern eyes.
“No, and I can’t tell them and they trust us. Uncle Leo, it’s not exactly easy.They have known
of no other Covenants like theirs. Imagine being told that your girlfriend was a witch.”
“Actually, I have. Tyler’s mother was of witchin blood. She was very special too. Half fallen angel. Very beautiful. As was your mother. That’s why Tyler and you are so attractive.”
“I’ve noticed.” Lea said looking down at her water bottle, “He’s got very pretty blue eyes.”
“Yes. Well enough about that. You need to find out a way to tell them. Or at least Tyler. He’s trusting, and I know if you asked him he will not betray your secret. He doesn’t remember, but you two have been friends for along time ”
“I’ll try. But it’s going to be hard. I can’t just come out and say, ‘Hey guys! I know your witches. . And I hate to tell you Caleb but you didn’t kill Chase. He’s in hiding. And he has our banished fifth bloodline on his side too. Oh yeah we’re witches too!’ Yes Uncle Leo, what a nice conversation that would be.”
“Well, you’ll think of something,” he reassured her, “But I need to see you late tonight. You and the others. Anyway what happened to Riann?”
“Audrey put some sort of spell on her. She woke up to Wyatt though” she replied.
Lea walked back upstairs and knocked on Tyler’s door. She heard a gruff reply and opened the door to find Tyler laying on the bed resting on a pillow, a smile on his face.
“Comfortable?” she asked, a teasing tone in her voice.
“Umm-hmm,” Tyler replied, “Very. Much better than the dorms.”
Lea laughed, “My dad tries. Anyway that reminds me, your dad is downstairs in the kitchen with my dad. I’ll go get the other guys and I’ll show you to them.”
Tyler’s head shot up and he jumped off the bed. He followed Lea out of his room and into Caleb’s, were both he and Reid were talking.
“Hey, guys,” she said “Come downstairs. Tyler’s dad is in the kitchen with my dad. He wants to see you.”
“Okay,” Caleb said, “We’ll be down in a minute.”
“Okay,” Lea said softly, closing the door behind her.

Pogue was driving himself the others to Salem on the back roads. Riann had feel asleep in the seat beside Taylor who purposely woke her up to make sure she would wake up. Pagan was in the passenger seat beside Pogue. They were half way there and they were about to stop for something to eat when Pagan saw someone on the side of the rode and had Pogue to stop the car. She got out and as she inched closer saw the same brown hair she was familiar with all to well.
She covered her mouth as she turned the body over and saw why he was dead. They boys throat was crushed and his neck was broke. It’d looked like he’d been strangled. Pogue got out of the car and walked over to were she was standing and saw the boy. He saw what he looked like and he had a feeling he knew who did this. Chase. Pogue took her hand and led her to the vehicle and pulled out his phone and called the police.

Lea heard a noise down the hall and walked out of the kitchen. Caleb and Reid were walking towards her, Caleb a worried look on his face. She gave him a smile which he half-heartedly returned and walked past him into the kitchen, followed closely by Reid.
“Boys,” Mr. Sims said, “There you are! We’ve been wondering what was keeping you.”
“Family business sir,” Caleb replied.
Reid nodded his head. Mr. Sims looked at the boys and noticed the look on Caleb’s face. He’d seen it many times on his fathers.
“Would you like to talk about it?” he asked Caleb.
“Later?” Caleb asked.
“If you’d like,” Mr. Sims replied. Caleb shook his head and sat down at the table.
“Dad,” Lea said, “This is Caleb and Reid. They are our friends.”
“Nice to meet you both ,” Mr. Danforth replied, “Lea’s told m about you both.”
Caleb smiled now. Lea watched as a slight blush came to his cheeks as he looked at her. Lea turned her head at a noise at the front of the house. She excused herself and went to open the front door and saw the others getting out. She smiled and went to help Taylor with Riann’s bags. When they got inside, Taylor and Lea set Riann’s things down in the foyer next to the stairs and walked to the kitchen were Pogue, Pagan, and Riann had already gone to.
“And dad, this is Pogue,” she said pointing to the long haired boy.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Danforth,” Pogue said shaking Lea’s father’s hand, “ Uncle Leo, what are you doing here?”
“Business,” Mr. Sims replied. Leo looked at the boys and smiled, “Well, I best be off. Lea, don’t forget about this afternoon.”
Leo stood up and headed for the door followed closely by Tyler. Lea looked at Pogue and smiled, “Have any trouble?”
“Actually, we found a dead person on the side of the road on our way here,” he said looking at Caleb.
Lea looked at the others, “ Did you call the police?”
“Yeah,” Pagan replied.
“You know what guys,” Mr.. Danforth said, “I’m going to order few pizzas. Pepperoni okay with everyone?”
Everyone nodded, “Good, I want everyone to go relax. Why don’t you all go into the theater and watch a movie.”
“Okay,” Pogue said, “You guys have a theater?”
Lea laughed as she led the way down to the theater.

Pagan was in the passenger seat beside Pogue. They were half way there and they were about to stop for something to eat when Pagan saw someone on the side of the rode and had Pogue to stop the car. She got out and as she inched closer saw the same brown hair she was familiar with all to well.
She covered her mouth as she turned the body over and saw why he was dead. They boys throat was crushed and his neck was broke. It’d looked like he’d been strangled. Pogue got out of the car and walked over to were she was standing and saw the boy. He saw what he looked like and he had a feeling he knew who did this. Chase. Pogue took her hand and led her to the vehicle and pulled out his phone and called the police.

Lea heard a noise down the hall and walked out of the kitchen. Caleb and Reid were walking towards her, Caleb a worried look on his face. She gave him a smile which he half-heartedly returned and walked past him into the kitchen, followed closely by Reid.
“Boys,” Mr. Sims said, “There you are! We’ve been wondering what was keeping you.”
“Family business sir,” Caleb replied.
Reid nodded his head. Mr. Sims looked at the boys and noticed the look on Caleb’s face. He’d seen it many times on his fathers.
“Would you like to talk about it?” he asked Caleb.
“Later?” Caleb asked.
“If you’d like,” Mr. Sims replied. Caleb shook his head and sat down at the table.
“Dad,” Lea said, “This is Caleb and Reid. They are our friends.”
“Nice to meet you both ,” Mr. Danforth replied, “Lea’s told m about you both.”
Caleb smiled now. Lea watched as a slight blush came to his cheeks as he looked at her. Lea turned her head at a noise at the front of the house. She excused herself and went to open the front door and saw the others getting out. She smiled and went to help Taylor with Riann’s bags. When they got inside, Taylor and Lea set Riann’s things down in the foyer next to the stairs and walked to the kitchen were Pogue, Pagan, and Riann had already gone to.
“And dad, this is Pogue,” she said pointing to the long haired boy.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Danforth,” Pogue said shaking Lea’s father’s hand, “ Uncle Leo, what are you doing here?”
“Business,” Mr. Sims replied. Leo looked at the boys and smiled, “Well, I best be off. Lea, don’t forget about this afternoon.”
Leo stood up and headed for the door followed closely by Tyler. Lea looked at Pogue and smiled, “Have any trouble?”
“Actually, we found a dead person on the side of the road on our way here,” he said looking at Caleb.
Lea looked at the others, “ Did you call the police?”
“Yeah,” Pagan replied.
“You know what guys,” Mr.. Danforth said, “I’m going to order few pizzas. Pepperoni okay with everyone?”
Everyone nodded, “Good, I want everyone to go relax. Why don’t you all go into the theater and watch a movie.”
“Okay,” Pogue said, “You guys have a theater?”
Lea laughed as she led the way down to the theater.
