Disclaimer: I don't own the characters etc. just the story.
Summary: Edmund isn't liking the professor's house and Jadis has a little chitchat with a particular faun.
Note: This probably has a million typos.

Edmund closed the mothball infested curtains. They crinkled together, smelling of old perfume, a crisp reminder to the house of all the seconds past, all the visitors who had thrust the curtains shut like Edmund had just done without any care.
He and his brother and sisters were spending war time with some old professor. A pure lunatic in Edmund’s opinion, the professor was one to keep enigmatically in the shadows, a trail of silver colored smoke behind him.
The youngest of the boys had doubts about their whole ‘vacation’ as their mum had so crudely put it. It was hardly ever sunny out; rain would always wash out any outdoor activities. There were only two beds for them to sleep in, and it was rather odd sleeping with Peter. Oh well, it was better than Susan.
Edmund had his opinions on Susan, too. A prissy girl, sharp (and prickly) like a porcupine, time spent with her wasn’t Edmund’s favorites. He was starting to take that outlook on the whole Pevensie family. Peter was obviously going through some evil puberty and seemed to do everything to make Edmund tempestuous. Little things like taking the bar of soap and putting it one level too high to reach, or big things like calling him a little girl in front of everyone, (Edmund had his priorities in an order rather hard to figure out,) he was generally pissed.
Perhaps the correct word was ‘abandoned.’ Ed felt, deep down, that his mum just wanted to get rid of him. That Peter hated him and wanted him erased from the family history. The boy was very vulnerable, and as he sat down to rest, he didn’t realize how very much his life would be changing. The new friends he would meet. How loved he would feel.
As Edmund’s butt hit the cushion, Lucy jumped up. She took a glance over to the curtains which were concealing pouring rain which rattled from the gutters and pinged off the sidewalks with clarity. She held her hands down in front of her, looking sweet and innocent, and spoke, her lukewarm voice echoing through the mansions’ thin walls.
“Could we...please play hide and seek?” She uttered, her eyes blinking faster than a hummingbird’s wings flap.
Edmund sighed with disgust and put his head in his hands. What a foolish girl.

~*~*~

The faun’s hooves reverberated in the icy castle. His scarf tightly around him and rubbing his arms, Tumnus the faun bowed before the Queen’s wolf.
The wolf stood and growled. “What do you want?” The animal’s pupils swelled as his gaze penetrated the faun’s soul.
Tumnus’ kind soul shivered from both a small hypothermic chill and the wolf’s crystal gaze. “I-I am here to see the Queen. She requested my presence.”
Maugrim looked up at Tumnus skeptically. His Queen, Jadis (May she live forever,) bespeaking for a lowly faun He would have laughed and spit in the animal’s face if the throne
room door’s had not come slowly open.
Before the two animals stood a giantess. Her blond flowing locks were tied up behind a poised
lechatelierite diadem glistening in the palace’s pale light. Her white complexion only darkened her black eyes. Her lips were almost a sky blue, but much paler. Below her eyes small snowflakes
seemed to dance, their rays translucent amongst the rest of her pale body.
Grasping her ice scepter, she said in a mellow voice, “Ah, faun. You’re here for the children, correct?”
Tumnus’ lips quivered with fear. “Ye-yes, your majesty.”
