Dark Angel Fans? Please Help

Does anybody know what James Cameron had planned for the plot? I know sometimes when series get canceled prematurely, the show's creators share where the were headed. I just finished watching it today, and I'd love to know what the deal was.

Also, any recs for good after the end Dark Angel fics? I would seriously love to see this show resolved.
