I have too many things to say, so I will trim them down to three.
1. DO HARD THINGS CONFERENCE HAS BEEN CANCELED. This is actually old news, but I guess it's never too late to inform anyone who might be reading this. To find out why it was canceled,
click here. Tickets can be refunded in the outlets where you bought your tickets. Please be advised that payments will no longer be refunded after June 30, 2010. Please refund your tickets as soon as possible. Thank you.
In light of these developments, Do Hard Things Philippines is organizing a Prayer Day to be held in
Greenhills Christian Fellowship this coming Monday, June 14, 2010. (a public holiday in the Philippines). Do come by and spend the day in worship and prayer with us.
2. PASSION MANILA has rocked the Philippines.
What a blessing this has been. I worshiped along with 10,000 other people in Araneta Coliseum that day. Thank you, Japan, for praying for us; your prayers were so evident. Passion Hong Kong just ended too, and I heard from
Jacq Wong (our favorite Pinoy in HK) that the Philippines gave around PHP700,000. Amazing, isn't it? The Lord multiplies what we give to Him.
Chris Tomlin and his band graced us with a strong line-up of songs that speak only of His amazing grace and glory. I love how deep the songs were, even though they were masked by such simple melodies and rhythms. Kristian Stanfill came straight from the airport after jumping from too many places at once. (Shanghai, Minneapolis? I can't recall. Do leave me a comment if you remember.) I was given a surprise treat when he sang "How He Loves". (That song, subconsciously, is a song I now consider to be a discovery of mine, haha.) I am blessed by how much people reacted to it, too. My good friend, Barbie Perez told me that she immediately purchased the CD in Araneta and has been playing the song in her iPhone nonstop.
Louie Giglio shared a story of what it means to live in His story versus living on our own. Jesus came so that you may have life. Apart from Him, how can one live? While most people remember the "I am part of God's movie" story, I think my favorite was how Ashley's father came into faith. And as joyful as I am over his relationship with God, after dealing with skepticism, disappointment, and pain, I cannot help but remember the words he told Louie. He said something like, "Don't count on the bow in your story. I could never see myself as Christian, so forget about that nice little ending."
And Louie replied with something like, "Bow or no bow, you're stuck with me, and I will always stand witness to Jesus Christ."
Bow or no bow, I am who I am because of Him.
Read what Louie Giglio has to say about Passion Manila here! 3. There are two young girls walking the streets of the Philippines today, on a mission!
I am so blessed to have had the chance to meet them and hear their stories!
Rebecca and Denise are going to travel to three countries in total, following where God is going to take them on this mission trip. The Philippines is their first stop, and then after they will go to Thailand and then finally Cambodia! Oh my goodness, talk about bravery and taking leaps of faith. (I sometimes wonder how they were able to talk their families into this.) Heehee! I recently went on a trip to Vietnam and that in itself was already a large wall my parents needed to jump over. Thank God for their patient hearts. =)

It's amazing (and at times saddening?) that I can see my own country through a different set of eyes. God bless you, Rebecca and Denise!
