things happen for a reason they say/ but I say there's a reason things happen

one lucky girl here. i didn't have work today so after my brief and undesireable black friday trip (mer-wii mer-wii christmas) at 6:30am, I came home and cleaned out closets. dishes are done, candles are burning, hip-hop rivals the dryer in the basement, both shaking my floor boards. josh is expected imminently. tia and desi are upstairs playing in her newly clean and rearranged room. dogs are sleeping.

this week went really well. dinner went off without a hitch, family gathered, people ate, the good china was used. 250 8th grades know something about the concept of a living wage and wealth distribution in the US 1976-present. teachers were impressed and grateful. i think dad bought tia new boots (which is good because it seems child support is late; i was planning to do that myself today...) we saw mr.magorium's wonder emporium yesterday, which really was magical, right until the end. actually, i cried from about the third scene to the last one. maybe as good as millions?

my biggest worries are that my dryer is not spinning out as completely as i want it to, and that my clutch will die before the money comes to fix it.

also, some of you are more grown-up or wealthy than i am; does anyone know about a truly truly socially conscious investment things where i can put tia's money-fer-when-yer-a-grown-up? right now it's with vanguard who i despise (especially 500 index and health care fund eew).
