1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Lost two jobs. Wasn't in school for nine months. Paid my own bills. Got into two grad schools. Became a teacher. Lived without an ice-maker. Got a cat.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make New Years resolutions, but I might have to make an exception for this year. I'm gonna throw a revolution or something on my ass.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My boss and two of my cousins.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
None :(
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A work-ethic. A goal. A boy.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Several: when I slashed my finger open and had to get stitches. When I quit being a nanny. Sam and Bre's wedding. Barack Obama being elected president.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Grad school? I taught things? My life is pathetic. I'm never doing one of these surveys again.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being a nanny.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the stitches. Unbelievably, I was only sick once this entire year and it was only for like five days.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My iMac. My kitty.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Funnily enough, same answer as last year: Barack Obama.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Anybody who still hasn't watched Battlestar Galactica, after I have told them repeatedly to do so. Also, the assholes who nominate people for Emmy's.
14. Where did most of your money go?
TV on DVD, books, clothes. Food.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The election and Battlestar Season 4.0.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
"Heart Attack," Low vs Diamond; "So What," Pink; and "Life on Mars," David Bowie.

Stuff I liked.

Research, writing papers, being a nanny, being poor.

I spent Christmas with my mom and sister. Very low-key.

A little, but not really, no.

Battlestar!!!!! And Lost, 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, and Bones. Also, I discovered Farscape thanks to Casa Video and iTunes.

No.

The History of Love, On Chesil Beach, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Nothing. I am a corporate tool.

My iMac, a new apartment, to live with Emily and Alison again, to visit Seattle, a new X-Files movie.
