Over the summer when
Emily and I did our Seattle to Tucson road trip -- of which the travel log is forthcoming, I swear -- there were a couple of hours where Emily did nothing but torment me by trying to make me sing Disney songs. Without music. This was her favorite, and she still thinks it's hilarious to just bust out singing, and either make me finish a line or try to sing with her.

This morning I was getting ready for school and my iTunes was set to one of my musical mixes. In addition to singing torture, Emily also likes to watch me get ready and bug me and make me late on Wednesday mornings. It is her special routine. So, she's doing that this morning when "Kiss the Girl" comes on.

I am late and the singing torture makes me feel ooky so I told her to shut up, but she just kept making that sound Scuttle the seagull makes in the middle of the song. And then, just as I was leaving, she says this:
"Someday we're going to be sitting in a boat together, and I'm going to sing this song to you."
Except the way she said it, it was more like, "One day, one day soon, when you're not expecting it, I will stab you with a dull bread-knife and then cackle over your lifeless body." But don't worry about me. I'm sure I'll be fine. Just fine.
