Close but no Cigar
BBC News 24 uses an automatic system for it's subtitles presumably based on speach recognition. This works reasonably well for most of their reports but just occaisionally it goes wrong.
Today I was in the Nationwide, waiting for an appointment to be arranged I was watching News 24 with subtitles on the plasma screen. I was quietly amused when the subtitles stated that it was 40 years since the ABBA Van Tragedy.
You'd think that someone, somewhere would check things like this...
