Day 15 -- Favorite Female Character
Well, this one took some debate as well. There are quite a few female characters I happen to find bad ass, but when all is said and done, I had to go with my Voyager chick, B'Elanna Torres
Don't know why I latched onto her all those years ago when I first started watching Voyager...maybe it was because the first ep I saw was very B'Elanna-centric. Who knows? All I know is that I continued to find the character interesting, and I loved watching her change over the years from hostile misfit to ship's darling. Excellent character development over the years, making the character real and believable and someone I could connect with (good for an awkward teenager without a lot of friends or personal life). Roxann Dawson was wonderful in the role of B'Elanna Torres, and I always believed what she was doing...an impressive feat for a show set three hundred years in the future, and a character that is half of a species that doesn't exist.
As an added bonus, a few years ago I got the chance to meet Roxann Dawson, who was lovely and sweet and completely nice to me, even as I damn near cried at her feet. I don't know about anyone else, but it's always easier to like a character on TV when the person who plays the character is a genuinely nice person.
