People have been adding this despite the fact that I hadn't even logged in in three years until tonight, so I feel like I owe them an update, however insubstantial.
Things That Have Been Going On In Amandine's Life:
1. The ones that matter:
I learned that there are things I can do well. I learned to love doing them. Friends came and went, except for those who came and stayed, and those who went first and came back. My middle name has come to have a secret meaning I cherish, and for once I have a deep, light secret.
2. The ones that matter relatively less:
My parents moved to another continent and another hemisphere, and I have never appreciated them as much as I do now that they're 9000 kilometers away. I was, briefly, a workaholic, before going part-time and eventually being fired, which may or may not be related to the fact that my love life has been rather tumultuous. I went on countless road trips to countless locations on budgets varying between a piece of gum and a paperclip (the things I learned from MacGyver). I learned a language - rather pathetically, considering I still can't conjugate any verb I haven't learned by heart.
3. The ones no one cares about:
My hair went from black to brown to... red? I fought the law and the law won. Then it rubbed it in some.
Today I spent some time with a baby and felt horrifyingly maternal, failed to plan two separate trips in two cardinally opposite directions, ate cold pizza, felt generally uncharacteristically emotional, missed a bus, ran through the streets around my home for no reason whatsoever, used too many adverbs, and reminisced.
