Marauder Era Timeline

As the new information about the Malfoy family has finally lured me to sign up to Pottermore my interest in Harry Potter has resurfaced again. I have long thought about making some sort of timeline for the generation that attended Hogwarts during the first war.

This is written mainly as a resource for those who write Marauder era fic, in which I try ( Read more... )

I've also always been a fan of Snape's Hogwarts friends. I don't know, they've always just interested me, and they seems much more effective than Draco's gang ever was. Personally though I think the number one problem is the birth order of the Black sisters. Even if we ignore the years on the timeline, Andromeda would still have had to have been born in around 1957 (and that's taking teen pregnancy into account) meaning that Bellatrix would either be born the same year (if they're twins) or before. I can't say I'm too big of a fan of having Narcissa that much younger than Lucius either. I think it would've been much better if JK had made Bellatrix the youngest and Andromeda the oldest. This is how my ideal timeline would be for the Slytherins at the time:

7th year: Andromeda Black
6th year: Lucius Malfoy, Rabastan Lestrange
5th year: Narcissa Black
4th year:
3rd year: Bellatrix Black, Rodolphus Lestrange
2nd year: Severus Snape, Evan Rosier, Avery, Mulciber, Wilkes (I really like the idea of Florence and Wilkes being the same person)
1st year: Regulus Arcturus Black

This would give Andromeda time to have Tonks, as well as making Bella and Roddy young enough to have been in a gang with Severus and the rest (I made them a bit older to make things diverse). As for Lucius not being a member of the gang, I believe that he was part of an older gang of Slytherins and that the two gangs were separate but did associate with each other. Rabastan also wasn't mentioned as a member so maybe he was part of Lucius's crew along with some others (maybe Travers?).
