ICE HOCKEY UPDATE: Well, I've decided to shoot for my level 4 certification in ice hockey. I want to take my experience from the DOS and my level 4 and use it to do higher level games and possibly shoot at doing some national level games. I would like the chance of refereeing high school games on a frequent basis and also I'd like to try my shot at juniors and maybe even refereeing a college game. Who knows where this is going to take me?!
WEEKEND UPDATE: Being that it's 0221, I figure that it's technically ok to consider the weekend to be over. What a weekend it was!
On Friday, Ms. Kwaske came up here to visit for the weekend. It is always nice to spend some quality time with her! We were joined by a Mr. Jeff Arbogast around 5ish as we headed to the DQ for some ice cream. Then we walked down to the Black Rose for some good ol' Irish fun! (aka beer). After some fond reminiscing, we walked to TGI Fridays where we topped er' off with some frothy beverage and some quesadillas. Mmm-mmm good!
On Saturday, Cathy and I got up early and went to Big Boy's for some breakfast. Mistake. We had horrible service and cold food. Last time I eat there! The remainder of the day was a blast though. We once again joined up with Jeff and our pal Jake to head out to Grand Haven, the Coast Guard Festival, and the beautiful Lake Michigan beaches! As we headed lakeside, we past a little tavern called the Tip-A-Few Tavern and immediately decided to stop back when we were heading home. After a few hours of sand, football, watching the CG heli practice drops and pickups, and some girl watching; we headed to this so called Tip-A-Few where we began our drinking (and eating).
On our way back from Grand Haven, we also stopped by the Yellow Jacket bar where I had my cherry popped. We had our first "Pink Drinks" and boy were they full of alcohol!!! Vodka, Tequila, Triple Sec, Grenadine, and other stuff blended w/ ice to make a drink that you could chug and not taste the horrible contents. The best part of it was that they were served in a mini pitcher! for $6, how cool is that?! [note: there is a 2 drink max for pink drinks] They we showered and changed and headed out to Mojos for Pam Moyers b-day. Mojo's is a dueling piano bar... IT F*ing ROCKS!!! It is probably the best bar in GR right now!!
After a few more hours at mojos and a few* more drinks later, we headed out to the Intersection where we had been put on the owners list of VIPs. I don't know how we got on it, but we did and we got in for free! It's not my kind of club (strange people and techno/funk music, but it was still really cool to be VIPs. We left the Intersection around midnight and stopped by the Black Rose to take a few Irish Car-bombs and relax to an authentic irish band! What a way to cap the night!
Sunday, I woke up to a hangover and a sunburn; reminders of my crazy day. I really enjoyed this weekend, and am very pleased with my company. If anyone wishes to have a weekend like this, just get a hold of me and we'll arrange it!
Mahalo!
