...not so great, akshully. :p This time around the writer's decided to squish the first two episodes of the first FMA anime into one episode. This was both a good and a bad thing. For me it was good because I absolutely *HATE* Rose's character. HATE! :p Less Rose for me is a good thing. However, the pacing of the story really suffered. Seriously, majorly suffered. And for some reason I found the animation of this episode to be not as good as the previous 2 episodes. The use of the split screen didn't help any either.
HOWEVER! This episode did confirm my thoughts that the new series would be sticking more to the Manga (as if seeing a young Hohenheim in the opening credits wasn't enough). At one point Lust mentions "Our Father is going to be angry with us." So, yeah, no Dante in this series and the Homunculi were created by Father, not by a failed human transmutation.
This is...cool, though I have to admit I really liked how the first series handled the origins of the homunculi. I mean, I thought Wrath and Envy from the first series were utterly brilliant. But I'm looking forward to seeing Manga Pride in the new anime. And Lin/Greed! :D
