ok, i admit i may be a little tough on kids about eating. basically, there is food on the table at every meal. it may not always be your favourite. you can choose to eat that food, or something within reach like a banana or bread or cereal (something that doens't need cooking up). if you don't eat, you'll be hungry. your choice.
my point? if you're hungry, eat. you are responsible for your own stomache. you can choose whatever is on the table to fill your stomache. there is no need for drama about eating.
and then, there are other caretakers to don'tt share my view. to them, this is unecessary cruelty. when the kids don't eat, they try to spoon feed. it used to be that they would even run around the house or be in front of tv to spoon feed. i changed that. now we all eat at the table or don't eat at all. today when chiara didn't eat much coz the meal didn't suit her taste, i offered her banana and let her off the dining table. caretakerA kept asking/persuading her to eat. still refuse, she went to the find something else from the kitchen that chiara prefers to eat. ugh! soon she'll learn that if she doesn't eat meal A, there will be meal B to choose from. she'll also learn that not eating will get attention.
om.... om....om... must relax... let it be... let it be... om.. om...
