[There's mostly crackling on the comm before Naoto's voice cuts in. It's raspy, hoarse, and he still sounds sick-- despite the fact that he should be physically well now.]
...I'm sorry if I worried you, Shiori-san. I'll.
I'm sorry. [There's a minute of hard breathing as he calms himself down. He doesn't want to go out, he doesn't want to run

Se-Serizawa-san! [A soft hiccup cause you know she's been sniffling and crying a little while waiting. Probably has one of the headaches from weeping so much, but she doesn't care. Her friend is back after all.]
It's okay, please don't apologize! I'm just so happy to hear your voice. It wasn't your fault... I was really sad to see you... [She can't even say it. 'See you die', she doesn't want to think of that anymore.] See... that... but even with everything that's so wrong here in this city, it gives people a second chance. I'm so glad your back.
Naruse-san and I are almost there. Um... I'm bringing you some coffee... I thought it would be like back home, it's from Eri's shop.
[She's trying to be a little more cheerful, she doesn't want to make him feel ( ... )

He wishesit could make him smile, but it just makes him feel bad for putting effort into him.]
...Thank you, Shiori-san. I hope it's not too much trouble.

It's not! It's no trouble at all, I'm just... I'm really glad you're back.
[Naruse told her the room number so they're heading there now.]

But he knows stopping her would probably just hurt her more-- or, at least, make her even more adamant about taking care of him.
So he waits, trying to not think of Naruse joining the two of them.

Making it to the room Naoto had told them, she knocks, it's only polite anyway.
"Serizawa-san?"

Time had allowed him to sink back into the spiral of regret and self-loathing he'd built up before, and he looks up at the sound of the knocks. He looks down at himself (trying to cover up the scars as best as possible with the bloodied and shredded remains of his clothing), then stands up shakily. "Yeah. Come in."

She feels silly once she realizes that he's not bleeding or hurt, at least not anymore, that it's just his shirt but... the sight is still enough to make her stomach do flip flops. Mouth set in a line, more her trying not to cry seeing him like this, she moves towards him, before hugging him. A sniff and she's slowly failing at not crying.
"I'm glad you're back..." and there's a bit of that awkward hugging for just a bit too long moment going on before she pulls back. Sniffling, though she smiles a little, she looks down at his shredded shirt.
"You'll need a new shirt..." if she remembers right, there probably were a few old ones in the closet in the appartment. She'll have to take a look when they get home.

He supposes that'd be the best. But he can't bring himself to lift his arms and take the comfort she's offering, or comfort her. And before he knows it she's pulled back already, and he's just looking at her.
"I.. yeah. I do. This one's pretty ruined." He tugs at it again to hide the horrible, raw scars underneath. "Thank you for coming."

Whilst he had been bothered by Serizawa's death (and subsequent revival), he's not sure if he can quite bring himself to utter a sentiment along the lines of 'welcome back' because that's not how he feels and it's not a sentiment one should ever have to utter after death regardless. That aside, he's of the opinion that Serizawa shouldn't have died and -- that's all there is to it. Regarding everything else, his thoughts are somewhat confused.
Glancing out of the window, he can't help but think about the last time both he and Serizawa had been in a hospital ward; the situation had been remarkably different but, somewhat irritatingly, no less awkward.
