New website, counting down...

One week until the official pub date! I have shared this information with virtually everyone who has exchanged two words with me over the last few days (possibly more than once, I can't be sure); and I have already failed to resist the temptation to start poking about in bookstores looking for an early copy.

By the way, I just finished Temeraire, and I really, really liked it.

Thank you.

It was a treat to be on a panel with you at Lunacon - it's always nice when you get to tell somebody in person how much you like their work.

Can't wait for Temeraire 2.

And it was lovely to meet you also -- the panels were lots of fun, I have to say, and I am very excited about having The Secret of Jin-Shei to read now -- I hope to have the time today to dive in for at least a bit.

I was lucky enough to pick up Temeraire on a visit to South Africa a couple of weeks ago. In case you're interested, there were several copies available at most bookstores I went into, even those whose scifi/fantasy sections consisted of one book shelf. It is just as excellent as I imagined it to be!! Now that you're published, would you still like proper reader reviews? ;)

Small nitpick on the website: the mailing list sign-up doesn't seem to function properly.

*runs off to look at Loch Laggan pictures and imagine Temeraire splashing in the loch*

Thank you so much for letting me know about the signup issue -- I've gotten it fixed now, whew! Silly me for not checking that piece.

And yes, please, I would love reader reviews! There is no such thing as too much feedback.

I had no idea you had so many great reviews. I feel positively smug, reading them.

I'm buying the American edition of your book as soon as it hits my local independent bookstore -- that's this week, isn't it? I can hardly wait to see what you've done.

*grins* Yes, I am full of gloating over my reviews, shamelessly. And D-Day is Tuesday March 28! But it might show up sooner, because unless you are JK Rowling or Stephen King, the bookstores are not that careful about sticking to publication dates -- whenever the boxes show up, the books can get put on the shelves.

Oh, I love SFBC's omnibus editions--thanks for letting us know this is coming! (My birthday's in June, so I guess I know what I'll be spending my birthday money on this year!)

My pleasure. I'm very excited by it also -- so pleased to have a US hardcover available, and it will even have a brand-new piece of cover art.
