Rant of the day
You know I've lived in France for most of my life? Strange when you consider we came over here when I was ten to stay just one year. We didn't expect or want to stay more than that but circumstances prevented our escape departure. So, despite everything, France is where I've parked my boots for most of my life. I'm not especially fond of the place but I don't hate it either. Problem is, no work for Nemo. Or if there is, it's damnably hard to find. To get anything decent here, you need the papers to prove you've studied the subject. So even if you are English, if your mother is an English teacher and if your own English teacher has told you told your face that you are the most English person he has ever met, unless you have a piece of paper stating you have spent five years at Uni pouring over the collected works of Shakespeare and J.K. Rowling, you can't get a well-paid job translating the ruddy language. It's very frustrating.
