Well, it's almost time for the Great Lakes Folk Festival weekend, the highlight of my summer.
I just previewed their Web site and bookmarked it to my home page.
My sister still plans to come one day, unless the weather is too hot. I'll do lots of walking, singing, clapping, smiling, plus I am sure, Steve and Laura will get me out on the dance stage.
I used to be reluctant to dance, until after my heart attack a year-and-a-half ago, but since recovering, I find dancing fun, and I feel grateful that I still have the energy for it.
That can be a challenge, but I am sure I am stronger and healthier this summer than last.
Monday I see my heart doctor for another four-month routine EKG and check-up. I expect good news.
But, these periodic appointments remind me what a close call I had.
Most of the time, otherwise, I forget I had a heart attack, unless I get too tired. Then I am likely to notice the effects, though sleep takes care of that.
I am looking forward to being outdoors and enjoying the music with friends, as I do every year at this event.
