Lunar New Year (2014)
I just wanna celebrating Chinese New Year Wooden Horse with something (unimporant) late for review, basiclly the orginal one I put at my tumblr and reblog from lekurita. So I repeat with a bit correction (^^)v
2013 - 30 (+) Japanese (& a ilbit non-Japanese) Album from 2013 release, what I like.
1st based from my mine; (random-without rank-but maybe date release), Then of course based my bias <3.
01. The Beatmoss - The Beatmoss Vol.2 (2013.01.23)
Ilmari, one of Rip Slyme members, made a solo project with band (unlike Pessy or Ryo-Z), I mean a true band. And surprise for me, he can play guitar! haha.
I can say, this is a good album, as well their 1st albu. Rock-Rap/HipHop reminds me old Orange Range. And because Ilmari and KOSEN, this is make it different. My favorite song is 「So Fish」.
02. moumoon- Pain Killer (2013.01 30)
Yes you can use this album as your pain killer. The inside is almost have cheerful-beat, music and song lyrics. Even if the CD packaging not tempting like previous album NO NIGHT LAND, but it’s worthed to buy. Plus with their signed for real, just read here.
03. ペトロールズ / PETROLZ - dice (2013.02.06)
An alternatives if you miss Ukigumo ( ex-Gt. from 東京事変). Try this one, a soft ver. than 東京事変. Overall is good Jazzy-jazz again, same as like PROBLEMS, their previous album, this one is also nice album. My fav is 「雨」type: relax songs.
04. 堂珍嘉邦 / Yoshikuni Dohchin - Out of Box (2013.02.27)
After CHEMISTRY decided for to split up and solo career. I doubt first for Dochin career. Since He don’t have not strong enough image for his music style (not like Kawabata stick with RnB way), his solo is more confused.
But with this album, He can proof that, Dochin can do Out of Box unlike CHEMISTRY! He worked with a lot western musician, unpredictable, this album more of an experimental/rock sound. 「OKOKO」is my fav. ,oh yes the minus point is his eigo pronunciation is bad as hell *lol*
05. Art-School- The Alchemist (2013.03.13)
Since Nakao Kentaro (Bs) (from Crypt City) became their additional member, from BABY ACID BABY album’s, now I can handle Riki voice’s (if you know Riki voice is kinda….I won’t say it, but yeah..) . They pick フローズンガール (Frozen Girl) as their PV and that’s so “THE CURE”-ish.
Nice Riki bring back old ARTs style, but me dun like it, I prefer 「Helpless, or Dead 1970」 & for「Heart Beat」is reminds me with KILLING BOY 「xu」, same voc. different bass but same sounds. Means I love both Nakao or Hinatch *bassist-bias.
06. サカナクション / Sakanaction - Sakanaction (2013.03.13)
I have to say that I wasn’t really a fan of this album when it first came out. Feel this album is kinda “calm” for サカナクション usually style. The band released a more house oriented album, with less guitars.
I think that’s why I wasn’t immediately in love with it. It had less catchy songs than DocumentaLy, which is still my favorite sakanaction album, is the best so far. Most fav. song is 「Aoi」, so fit for NHK 2013 Football theme’s song.
07. m-flo - Neven (2013.03.13)
Oh I miss old m-flo…, Taku & Verbal please make up with Lisa!, so m-flo can come back with successful! (because Taku always complaining bout their current status at top oricon). Only one song works on me 「NO WAY」 feat. Kiko Mizuhara. Next album please.
08. GOLIATH - TAGOMAGO (2013.05.15)
Indie best album for me! Their 1st full album finally release for worldwide (thanks God), so I can bought it <3. Not like their mini album RESIDENT IN DESERT, released in 2011.
This album more explore, they had rock-electro-DJ-dancing-blues-jazz-pop everything! Most part point I like them is they’ve “twin-bassist” (I mean 2 members playing bass in 1 band) *bassist-bias!!!. My fav. track is 「Tiny submarine」.
09. cinema staff - 望郷 (2013.05.22)
I’m not their fans, even I don’t know who are they? But thanks for 進撃の巨人 (Shingeki no Kyojin) anime used their song 「Great Escape」 for end. 2nd session, so god and right place. Then I give a to try listen them , from their latest album.
Overall not bad, rockish enough, but I don’t like the vocal character from the Vocalist. I don’t say is bad but seems not fit for rock, idk… My fav is 「いたちごっこ」.
10. 川畑要 / Kaname Kawabata - 0 (2013.06.12)
After his partner released debut album 1st, now it’s turn for Kaname. Like all fans predicted his album is full of Pop/RnB-dancing. Technically I definitely love it, but in the end I felt opposite. Just a few songs I like, specially 「YOU」, that’s reminds me of CHEMISTRY song’s but without Dochin. But after He came to here and short-lived performance I repeat again to listen and grow-up with his album.
11. Notning’s Carved In Stone - REVOLT (2013.06.26)
My favorite J-rock ever!!!
A really catchy album. It might not be their best one but they made some pretty intriguing songs. Actually, this album is reminiscent of Echo, released in 2011. That was when they took a new direction with heavier sounds. This time we get some electro elements in a couple of songs, and overall REVOLT feels darker, grittier than their previous albums. We can feel it from begining before this album relesed,「Assassin」PV already told that this album more heavy-dark.
Me completely LOVE this album than SILVER SUN, it’s too light-US-western feeling for me. But ECHO is ‘emo’ side. And plus as bassist-sound-fetish Hinatch bring more easy-clearly if I want hear his tone. Specially; 「Sick、 Bog、and Predestined Lovers」. But still I miss their indie way like their 1st & 2nd album.
12. [champagne] - Me No Do Karate (2013.06.26
I like them. This time their sound is a bit heavier, more keys, as well as electro sounds are introduced in the songs. That’s why I decided to watched their concert last year at Zeppなんば 2013.11.09.
But some lack maybe on me, Idk why I only addited with 「Kick & Spin」the rest of is OK but not good enough for my ears. I still prefer I WANNA GO TO HAWAII album’s.
13. Dr.DOWNER - 幻想のマボロシ /Genso no Maboroshi (2013.07.03)
Need 2 years for waiting this 2nd album.
Finally YAY~
But in the end I might be a little bit disappointed. 1st, Congratulation to them, now they’re under Ki/oon (sony.jp), same like their senpai Asian Kung-Fu Generation. And that’s why I felt this album so Ajikan-ish. I knew Gotch have a lot deal with this band, but I think it’s too much now. I need more beat like 「どうだっけ」.
14. 安室奈美恵 / Amuro Namie - FEEL (2013.07.10)
THIS!!!
MY QUEEN!
FEEL Album's is ready for worldwide. So fresh from her! The inside is almost full of eigo.
She not Queen of HipPop anymore but transformation to Queen J-pop_EDM (even I miss her with HipPop things from her). As evidenced with 「Heaven」, produced by Zedd (young talent DJ), so cool!
I can say this is a 2nd best studio album after PLAY, released 2007. There are some songs that I lazy to listen, but when I went watching her concert on 2013.11.07 at Osaka-Jo Hall, & the performed so awesome~ I am back to fallen in love with few songs that I dislike before. Recommended all songs :)
15. TOWA TEI - Lucky (2013.07.10)
Interesting album, love to see Towa Tei back worked together with Yukihiro Takahashi <3 last in 2007. & also Shiina Ringo is featured on track 8 「APPLE」 plus on track no.6 「TERIMA KASIH」 « which one language he used, Indonesia/Malay ? wondering~ is it because He ever visited Indonesia? idk.
The whole album it’s feel back to 90’s disco era.
16. ORANGE RANGE - spark (2013.07.24)
I wasn’t really a fan of this album when it first came out but give a try listen this album because preparation before their concert at 国際会館こくさいホール, Kobe on 2013.11.04.
Tbh I don’t give much attention for OR since Kachan left, and they changed their music from rock, hip-hop, R&B to oshare-neo-pop (too much explore I guess). But compare from previous album I prefer this one, and they’re typical Live > recd.album.
After concert it’s easier to listen to them numerous times without getting bored. My fav 「マイペース」 too bad they not bring for live perf.
17. SOIL & “PIMP” SESSION - Circles (2013.08.07)
Great stuff! This was worth every single track.
Thanks for all great featuring like 椎名林檎 (again YAY!), RHYMESTER, Miyavi, DJ KENTARO, BONNIE PINK, etc. Made SOIL more more more <3
18. Ropes - Usurebi (2013.09.04)
Totally fallen in love at the 1st sight watched their [PV] Panorama & worth every penny I bought this mini album from iTunes.
Feel familiar with the voice? (Y) They’re Achico (Vo) & Todaka Masafumi (G) from ART-SCHOOL. (Both worked together before at KAREN before).
No wonder ‘Ropes’ reminds me with KAREN but this one is Toddy-beautiful creations, Not from Riki *lol*. All songs is beauty same like Toddy face :p
My favorite songs is 「imi」.
19. ストレイテナー / Straightener - Resplendent (2013.09.11)
Honestly is an amazing record. Five unique songs, five different tones. Dynamic, catchy, mellow…
But me only 4/5 songs, because I’m not into it for 「WISH I COULD FORGET」. My fav. is 「BLACK DYED」& like usual Hiroe made eigo-unique lyrics.
[OT] I went their concert twice. 1st at U★STONE, Shiga on 2013.11.02 and 2nd one at SCPAE, Singapore on 2013.12.20. OK Tener fans is not “dangerous” (means I compare with NCIS, witch is both are Hinatch band’s), no moshing or headbang like I got from NCIS fans *lol*.
20. PERFUME - LEVEL 3 (2013.10.02)
LEVEL 3 is more mature The album-mixes as well as the new songs are masterfully crafted by Nakata. I can said LEVEL 3 > JPN but still cant beat GAME or ⊿（トライアングル）.
For new material,「Clockwork」is the 1st song cant get out of my mind from this album then 「Party Maker」typical of 「edge」long hard-EDM, seven minutes long will make you dance like there’s no tomorrow. & Glad I bought CD/DVD local ver. (not Jpn) because the DVD included English subtitle \(^0^)/
21. The Teenage Kissers - Perfectly Dirty (2013.10.16)
I can’t imagine, why Hideo Nekota had so many side project, and this time with 北出菜奈 / Kitade Nana (singer&model).
1st impression, I underestimated them. They sound might be cutie-look-rock. HELL NO! It’s a big mistake! They produced pure-rock, Nana Kitade voices, mix and match with Nekota tune. I love it 4 from 6 songs I bought at iTunes. Too bad iTunes not sales include their PVs.
22. 嵐 / Arashi - LOVE (2013.10.23)
The only boyband I like so far (since 2007).
LOVE yes I Love this album, I almost like all the song except, Aiba solo’s. Why they gave Aiba ballad song’s, not fit, his image is cheerful. So, I prefer Sho solo song’s, catchy-Jazz.
[PV] P・A・R・A・D・O・X is unusual, I mean take a look their choreo-dancing so fresh not johnnys type.
And when I went to their concert at Nagoya Dome on 2013.11.08 「FUNKY」is the most loveable-fun song’s! We must dancing together with sync to all audince! So hard, you must learn from funky 反転 Ａブロック or funky 反転 Bブロック Try it! XDDD~
23. Capsule - CAPSLOCK (2013.10.23)
Their debut release on the label unBORDE is a neat idea album, for the whole concept and songs also. This time I (almost) can’t hear the vocalist Toshiko Koshijima singing. Feel this album bring me back to shibuya-kei era, more light-simple but still catchy like Nakata (中田ヤスタカ) always did.
24. 冨田ラボ/ Tomita Lab - Joyous (2013.10.23)
Can’t say much word. This is an another good line-up collaborations album. As his typical music, is always easy listening and relaxing
25. 木村カエラ / Kimura Kaela - Rock (2013.10.30)
Since expecting her 2nd child, then She moved to New own label ‘ELA’ , an interesting. But the album kinda fail for me. I knew She busy prepare for own her private live, but me want her original studio album.
The only song I played numerous times is 「FUNKYTOWN」 / Lipps, Inc.（feat. 石野卓球）.
26. BOOM BOOM SATELLITES - EXPERIENCED II (2013.11.06)
Back in 2011, BBS released EXPERIENCED, and now this album is the recorded from their concert at Budokan on May, 2013. Nothing new, still good as their original album. I added this because I think EXPERIENCED is the best album after Exposed. Glad Michiさん are OK now, He still fighting with cancer till now. 27. 椎名林檎 / Shiina Ringo - 浮き名 / Ukina (2013.11.13)
After Tokyo Jihen disbanded and She took long hiatus, now She’s return with a bunch best collaboration songs for her 15th anniversary.
A big ‘new’ is, She feat. with Nakata. Me not really surprised, because they’ll work together soon as possible (after with Towa Tei), Nakata will be the next victim. But I’m shocked old song 「CRAZY DAYS CRAZY FEELING」 by ZAZEN BOYS is feat. with her??! Means Shiina worked with Hinatch at that time!
28. THE NOVEMBERS - zeitgeist (2013.11.30)
Finally I have more favorite songs from this band; 「 zeitgeist、 We、 and Louder Than War (2019)」 , because, I only used THE NOVEMBERS songs is「ドニム」 from PARAPHILIA and 「夢のあと」 from (TWO) INTO HOLY. Before zeitgeist, they already released Fourth wall in same year. But can’t find what I’m looking for.
29. Rip Slyme - GOLDEN TIME (2013.12.04)
OH, I MISS THEM SO MUCH!!!
Finally they back after 2 years hiatus, lazy, and busy for solo career. *tears*. This album not the best for them but it’s muuuuccchhh better that STAR, released on 2011. I’m not complain anything about this album, even they didn’t produced hard Rap/HipHop again, I still can enjoy this one, happy-fun beat is mostly things from this album.
& The biggest different in this album is Ilmari so dominant, singing a lot chorus (usually is Pessy) and SU had solo song’s (even if made by Pessy), that’s never happen before. I can’t stop listening this album, &「FAKE」 is my fav. plus [OT] Rip Slyme concert is best I ever had!
30. ＪＵＪＵ - Gift (2013.12.11)
This is orchestra album! No new material. I can’t describe anything, except this album is so beautiful, outstanding and stunning like herself. *(^^)*

JKT48 - Heavy Rotation (2013.02.16)
AKB48 1st sisters album. I don’t like AKB48 but I do like JKT48 because after Nihongo songs translated to Indonesiago is more like heard original soundtrack of anime, at past time our local television dubbing every single songs op/end to Indonesian language , so it’s brings me back to that era. 90’s.
Arctic Monkeys - AM (2013.09.06)
SO GOOD, for real! They back in the right line and time. Not only britpop/rock but you can dance with 「Snap Out of It」. Comparing Albums: Favourite Worst > Whatever = AM > Hambug > Suck it and see.

Masterpiece! No one can’t beat him! RAPGOD! No need to explain, just try to listen, and you’ll agree with me :)

1st impression, I underestimated them. They sound might be cutie-look-rock. HELL NO! It’s a big mistake! They produced pure-rock, Nana Kitade voices, mix and match with Nekota tune. I love it 4 from 6 songs I bought at iTunes. Too bad iTunes not sales include their PVs.
22. 嵐 / Arashi - LOVE (2013.10.23)
The only boyband I like so far (since 2007).
LOVE yes I Love this album, I almost like all the song except, Aiba solo’s. Why they gave Aiba ballad song’s, not fit, his image is cheerful. So, I prefer Sho solo song’s, catchy-Jazz.
[PV] P・A・R・A・D・O・X is unusual, I mean take a look their choreo-dancing so fresh not johnnys type.
And when I went to their concert at Nagoya Dome on 2013.11.08 「FUNKY」is the most loveable-fun song’s! We must dancing together with sync to all audince! So hard, you must learn from funky 反転 Ａブロック or funky 反転 Bブロック Try it! XDDD~
23. Capsule - CAPSLOCK (2013.10.23)
Their debut release on the label unBORDE is a neat idea album, for the whole concept and songs also. This time I (almost) can’t hear the vocalist Toshiko Koshijima singing. Feel this album bring me back to shibuya-kei era, more light-simple but still catchy like Nakata (中田ヤスタカ) always did.
24. 冨田ラボ/ Tomita Lab - Joyous (2013.10.23)
Can’t say much word. This is an another good line-up collaborations album. As his typical music, is always easy listening and relaxing
25. 木村カエラ / Kimura Kaela - Rock (2013.10.30)
Since expecting her 2nd child, then She moved to New own label ‘ELA’ , an interesting. But the album kinda fail for me. I knew She busy prepare for own her private live, but me want her original studio album.
The only song I played numerous times is 「FUNKYTOWN」 / Lipps, Inc.（feat. 石野卓球）.
26. BOOM BOOM SATELLITES - EXPERIENCED II (2013.11.06)
Back in 2011, BBS released EXPERIENCED, and now this album is the recorded from their concert at Budokan on May, 2013. Nothing new, still good as their original album. I added this because I think EXPERIENCED is the best album after Exposed. Glad Michiさん are OK now, He still fighting with cancer till now. 27. 椎名林檎 / Shiina Ringo - 浮き名 / Ukina (2013.11.13)
After Tokyo Jihen disbanded and She took long hiatus, now She’s return with a bunch best collaboration songs for her 15th anniversary.
A big ‘new’ is, She feat. with Nakata. Me not really surprised, because they’ll work together soon as possible (after with Towa Tei), Nakata will be the next victim. But I’m shocked old song 「CRAZY DAYS CRAZY FEELING」 by ZAZEN BOYS is feat. with her??! Means Shiina worked with Hinatch at that time!
28. THE NOVEMBERS - zeitgeist (2013.11.30)
Finally I have more favorite songs from this band; 「 zeitgeist、 We、 and Louder Than War (2019)」 , because, I only used THE NOVEMBERS songs is「ドニム」 from PARAPHILIA and 「夢のあと」 from (TWO) INTO HOLY. Before zeitgeist, they already released Fourth wall in same year. But can’t find what I’m looking for.
29. Rip Slyme - GOLDEN TIME (2013.12.04)
OH, I MISS THEM SO MUCH!!!
Finally they back after 2 years hiatus, lazy, and busy for solo career. *tears*. This album not the best for them but it’s muuuuccchhh better that STAR, released on 2011. I’m not complain anything about this album, even they didn’t produced hard Rap/HipHop again, I still can enjoy this one, happy-fun beat is mostly things from this album.
& The biggest different in this album is Ilmari so dominant, singing a lot chorus (usually is Pessy) and SU had solo song’s (even if made by Pessy), that’s never happen before. I can’t stop listening this album, &「FAKE」 is my fav. plus [OT] Rip Slyme concert is best I ever had!
30. ＪＵＪＵ - Gift (2013.12.11)
This is orchestra album! No new material. I can’t describe anything, except this album is so beautiful, outstanding and stunning like herself. *(^^)*

AKB48 1st sisters album. I don’t like AKB48 but I do like JKT48 because after Nihongo songs translated to Indonesiago is more like heard original soundtrack of anime, at past time our local television dubbing every single songs op/end to Indonesian language , so it’s brings me back to that era. 90’s.
Arctic Monkeys - AM (2013.09.06)
SO GOOD, for real! They back in the right line and time. Not only britpop/rock but you can dance with 「Snap Out of It」. Comparing Albums: Favourite Worst > Whatever = AM > Hambug > Suck it and see.
