[Background] Eve was created as the prototype for an army of living weapons able to transform themselves at will. Her early years were spent in laboratories and training rooms, having the nanomachines in her blood tested or readjusted, studying combat, and being conditioned to respond to the orders of her creator, the arms dealer Torneo, regardless of personal feeling. This continued until Eve was about 12, when a strange man broke into Torneo's mansion, and he ordered Eve to kill the man. This wasn't particularly remarkable-- strange men broke into her “uncle's” compound at least once a month, and Torneo had begun ordering Eve to kill more and more often over the last year-- except that Eve chased the man through a hole in the wall, lost sight of him, and for the first time in her life found herself in the outside world.

This was all very confusing to her, of course, but fortunately Eve found a nice man who bought her ice cream and starting talking to her about how they could find her uncle. And then uncle Torneo showed up, and ordered Eve to kill the nice man. So she stabbed him through the chest, weeping, because even though she didn't want to kill, she was just a weapon, and weapons didn't get choices.

A day later, which Eve spent feeling very miserable and Torneo spent yelling at her for crying and leaving the compound, two men broke in again: the man she'd chased outside, and the one she thought she'd killed. When they offered her freedom and, more importantly, the opportunity to stop killing, Eve took it eagerly.

The two men, Train and Sven, respectively, turned out to be professional sweepers-- licensed bounty hunters-- and, lacking options that wouldn't land Eve in a government facility somewhere, decided to bring her along on their jobs. At that time, she also met Rinslet Walker, the female thief for hire who as Eve learned, had coaxed Train and Sven into targeting Torneo.

After getting Eve settled with a unnecessarily large new wardrobe (never go shopping with Rinslet if you want your budget to survive the experience) and a collection of books, which Eve immediately decided were one of mankind's greatest inventions, Train and Sven took her to a carnival in order to further her education in the wonders of the world. Unfortunately, the experience was disrupted by the nagging feeling that someone was following them. It was further ruined when Train, having gone off alone in order to deal with the stalkers, learned that his ex-partner Creed had abducted Rinslet and would kill her unless Train met with him. In the end, the incident turned out okay-- Train was able to rescue Rinslet, and neither of them sustained permanent injury-- but it was Eve's first experience of powerlessness, and she hated the feeling.

Eve determined to never be left helpless while her friends went into danger again and began to train in private as Train and Sven worked. When the three headed off to capture a serial killer, Eve offered to act as bait. Unfortunately, the situation did not go as smoothly as she would have hoped: when the serial killer appeared, Eve panicked and froze, unable to think clearly enough to activate her nanomachines, and Train and Sven had to save her. Afterwards, when Train attempted to comfort her, Eve (rather rudely, though Train seemed to be more amused than offended) declared that one day she would defeat him and resolved to train even harder.

Eve's next opportunity to test herself came some weeks later when, having snuck into a fancy banquet after Rinslet and Eve, she encountered a genetically engineered Tyrannosaurus. Feeling sympathy for the creature as a fellow experiment, Eve resolved to stop it without killing. In the end, she had to rely upon Train once again, but, as Rinslet pointed out, she was able to save Rinslet and contain the creature long enough for the building to be evacuated.

Some time later, the news began carrying a story on the attack on a major international summit and the murder of all representatives there, and Train's former commander visited to request that he become involved, telling him that Creed had been responsible. At the time, Eve considered the meeting interesting but not vitally important-- Train would go after the county or not, and she didn't think anyone else would be able to change his mind-- and went back to her books as soon as the woman left. She stayed engrossed in her reading while Train and Sven left to run errands, though she ran out of books earlier than planned, and so raced to the door when someone knocked. Only a moment of suspicion and very good reflexes saved Eve, for the person at the door wasn't one of the older sweepers, but a psychotic gunman who blew the door in. The ensuing fight was fierce but short-- Eve's skills had been developing quickly, but she couldn't handle a sharpshooter with magical abilities. She blacked out while the man was mumbling something about leaving a message for Train, and woke in Somarium.

[Personality]Eve is not socially competent. As in "thinks salted fish is a good present" incompetent. She has the sense to stay quiet most of the time, so strangers generally just think she's a well-behaved and exceptionally mature little girl who happens to be shy, but anyone who spends any significant time with Eve will quickly realize that she has no idea what normal behavior or conversation is. She means well, though, and tries to help those around her, especially Sven, who she credits with freeing her from a hellish life as a living weapon, and to do what she can to improve the world. Eve is brave, but not fearless; she'll volunteer for a dangerous job without hesitation if she thinks she can do it, and her first instinct is to run towards a fight instead of away from it, but faced with an enemy she thinks she can't defeat, she sometimes panics. The core of Eve's bravery is her sense of obligation: she considers herself, and not Torneo, primarily responsible for those she killed under his care, and seeks to make amends. This sense of responsibility also drives her to try to help others she sees as trapped in a life of violence, though it won't keep her from using force to stop them.

When she's not training to surpass Train, which she does daily with methodical determination (her curiosity and competitiveness exist in near equal quantities), Eve spends her free time either reading or exploring whatever city she's in that week. She enjoys most other opportunities to expand her knowledge and experience just as much, but reading library books and window-shopping are free, and Eve doesn't want to be a burden to Sven and Train. She will, however, sneak in somewhere interesting if given the slightest indication that it's alright (including but not limited to seeing Rinslet con her way in to steal something).

Of of the few activities Eve does have a strong preference for is spending time with Sven and Train, and, when she's available, Rinslet. She loves many things about the outside world, but those three are the reason she has the chance to see any of it, and they will always be foremost in her heart.

[Specialties/Abilities] In theory, Eve can transform any part of herself into any form she imagines, from shifted her arm into a blade to adopting the appearance of another person. In practice, the ability is limited both by Eve's body, which, not fully grown yet, cannot provide the energy to maintain an elaborate transformation for very long, and her mind, which must maintain a detailed visualization of the transformation for as long as it lasts. As such, she's able to create a weapon or shield for several minutes continuously, or generate wings to fly with for a minute or two, but not change her body mass drastically (so no T-rex Eve) or adopt a new face. The nanomachines also allow her to heal at an accelerated rate, though this draws upon the same energy reserve as her transformation abilities and requires concentration, so if injured severely, Eve's nanomachines will force her into a state of unconsciousness lasting until she's fully healed. Also, she has a photographic memory.

[Affection] Erm, she's thirteen, so no creepy underage sex that would get us all kicked off lj plz. Other than that, feel free to hug/pat on head/give ice cream to/whatever Eve; she'll probably be confused and might not reciprocate, but, hey, at least she won't try to stab you.
[Fighting] Fighting's okay, but talk with me first about killing/serious injury (I'll probably be somewhat flexible with injury, since she heals like whoa, but discuess it first.) Also, expect her to fight back, and if your character doesn't have special abilities or isn't very, very good, expect her to do some damage.
