Fanmix time! Doing things a bit differently with this one - I give you the "official" unofficial companion mix to
We're Gonna Groove, the newest piece of music-filth produced in the mental bowels of yours truly. Now you get to listen while you read... it's a full sensory experience over here at Air Nanoochka!
When I wrote
Paradise Circus, I kind of said, "Hey everyone, go listen to Massive Attack right now!" and no one did, until after they read the story and things suddenly clicked into place. I would be perfectly content to live in a world where everyone was already enough of a Zeppelin fan to recognize the songs I reference in the story, but I'm also about as likely to find Dean and Cas shagging in the next alleyway I walk past. It just so happens that a good understanding of Zeppelin is fundamental, IMO, to getting into Dean's head. Frankly, if you're a thirtysomething dude who likes classic rock, and you're going to have a wank to something, this would be it.
So, without further ado, I give you a not-really-definitive compilation of the Zeppelin tracks that will probably set your underwear on fire, and at the very least shed some light on the fic it gave me the idea for.
Download the .zip here.
The cover art can be downloaded by clicking the images and saving from Photobucket, although the whole thing including art is available from
here. I'm not going to include the lyrics, because it's Zeppelin themselves that is more relevant to the story/show, rather than the lyrics (frankly, most of them have not much to do with Dean/Castiel, not even if you squint), but here is the track list.
1) You Shook Me**
2) I Can't Quit You, Baby
3) What Is and What Should Never Be
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) Tea for One**
6) Dazed and Confused**
7) I'm Gonna Crawl
8) No quarter
9) Since I've Been Loving You**
10) The Rain Song**
11) We're Gonna Groove
Starred tracks are specifically relevant to the story. If you're gonna listen and read (which I'd recommend under every circumstance, anyway), do it in the order of, "You Shook Me", "Tea for One", "Dazed and Confused", "Since I've Been Loving You", and "The Rain Song", with particular emphasis upon track 9, since it might make you spontaneously combust, anyway.
Have fun, kids! Enjoy, and don't say momma never did anything for you.
