(Yes this is totally a verb now.)
First of all:
Welcome! Or welcome back!
For the news one here or the curious who haven't decided to join us, a quick explanation.
Nanomango is a community devoted to a monthly challenge I can only describe as: Like the nanowrimo, but with art.
Yes, this is insane, but very very rewarding.
More precisely, the NaNoManGo is about comics. We have 30 days to make 30 pages. (As I said, insane)
But, contrary to the name (mango stand for manga originally) you are not limited by any label of comics. If it had words and pictures, you are good to go. you can make american styled comics, franco belgian comic strip, four panel, manga, illustrated books, as I said, you only need words AND arts. And we are not going to be more picky than that.
I don't think I can do 30 pages of finished comics!
You don't have to! You can do 50 thumbnails sketch, 30 sketched pages, 10 inked pages, 5 colored pages... or another aim! Jusy give yourseve an objective, something that's going to be daring, unusual and which is going to stretch your abilities, but not too hard and discouraging!
I can't post everyday!
Again ,you don't have to. It does give a sense of rythm, but you can also post only on the weekend, or even at the end of the challenge!
That's all? No!
There is still rules. Sorry about that.
The first, only and most important rule is: if you are making a mature comics, as in nudity, sex, violence, swearing, anything that could shock someone, we only ask you to put NSFW (which doens't mean Not Suitable For Wombat) in the subject of your posts AND to add an LJ-cut to hide the pages.
Okay, you want to participate?
Good!
The first thing is to say hi in the headcount post coming soon! Say hi and tell us about your project! We do not bite and try to be helpful and kind (our enthousiasm can be a bit staggering but we're nice)
How can I post in the community?
As long as you joined the community, you can post whenever you want. We have a few habits to keep thing clean and tidy around here, beside the NSFW part.
fortunatly, we had some awesome moderators here these pasts years, and it's easiest for me to linked their old tutorial so we have:
To embed a picture, just use the code:

Do I have to post in the LJ community? I don't have a LJ / Don't want one/ lost my login / didn't know it still exist/etc
You don't have to post here! It's nice to have everything in the same place, but the community also exist on Tumblr, under the name
MangoGroove! The mod, Amongthegentlymad is also our
