Skull is a hologram again, laid over Fairchilde.
Okay, this is one of those pages where I've had to cut the dialogue brutally, letting a lot of the worldbuilding go unheard. Originally this was about 3 pages of Fairchilde comparing cultures, but having that in the comic would kill any sense of pacing. One of my big questions is 'Does this give enough info on the cultures to understand character motivations?' I guess I can have info pages between chapters, but that's kind of a cop out.
So this is the squicky bit. There's going to be a lot about what was going on in the mind of the surgeon who stitched her together much later on in the comic - though not a long conversation, given Ahrin's views on the matter.
And now we're back to moving the plot along. This was an easy page to draw!
The station will be a hologram with various areas marked in different colours.
Bottom panel will be a shot of defenses around Barbary's quaters. This was a bit of a rush write, and will need changing. Originally, Barbary survived the first scene, and Klaudissius broke off from him over him lying about his father's death, making the whole 'your word matters' thing more important. I wanted to make Klaudissius less competant, winning by accident rather than cutting a deal with Ahrian to save Squiggs on the condition she gets the baby. I couldn't leave Barbary alive for events that occur later in the story, and the Outsider taking him out seemed to be a great idea at the time, but putting it on paper has showen me that this section really needs a re-write.
