Hello, no idea who reads this anymore. But hey, that doesn't matter, right? :)

I am now working at IBM in Dublin as a service desk representative, solving computer problems, setting passwords and making sure everything is up to date and informing our managers about the quality of the work we are doing.

I just felt an urge to write here.
I am living at the moment in Tyrrelstown, sharing a house with now 7 other people. Everyone is really nice and it feels really nice to have people so close all the time. :)

So, I like my job, the people I work with are really nice, the pay is good, career oppourtunity is pretty strong and the best part is that I feel I can help people.
There are of course ups and downs with this job, but most of it is positive.

I have tons of nice customers, lots are understanding and easy to talk to.
But... Then there are those who seem to have a screw loose somewhere, those who think that we are their slaves and should everything they ask for.
You probably think that it is nothing special, but trust me when I say there are compelte nutcases out there.

What is it that makes it so hard to help the customers?
Well, it is the location where they are, what their problem is, how they describe the problem, their phone manners and of course, if they will accept the help we can give them.

Customers on strange locations
In their cars calling us wanting us to solve their problem before they get to work
On the French mountains having no internet connection
At home and have never installed a home internet

Strange problems
Computer is on fire
Customer hit harddisk drive with hammer to see if it solved the problem
Missing cables and not being aware of it
Peripherals not connected
"Magic smoke" that has escaped computer

Strange descriptions
Brain - referring to the speakers
That thing - referring to something
Wireless mouse - referring to unplugged mouse

Strange phone manners
Heavy breathing while talking
Eating chips while talking
Throwing pots and pans while waiting for a solution
Screaming they hate our f***ing secret organisation

Not accepting our help
They do not like the time it will take for us to solve the problem
They do not want to tell us their office room

I have tones more, but just a short take on what we have to deal with here.

But, That's just my job. How is the rest of Ireland?
Well, the nature is great, most people here are very friendly and I like the walk from and to work.

However, I have quite a few things that I wish would get improved in this country, but I guess that goes for any place.
