Day Ten Word Counts

Maybe you're exhausted like me and want to stop writing and go to bed or just stop writing because it all seems too much, 50K is a lot of words, and maybe 10K or 20K is just enough. You've written more words in a month than you have ever, and you can live with that. Except there's this beast inside you which stirs which says "I can do a little more, a little more," and even though you want to fall flat on your face there is a part of you that can go that computer or notepad and write a word or two or three then you keep writing and then it gets bigger and bigger and before you know it, you're a force to be reckon with and you can't stop and people are tell you, what the hell are you doing? and you don't know what they're saying because you're doing it, you're writing, they call it in the zone, but you don't know what that is, and the writing just keeps getting harder and harder. Not harder in the sense that it's harder to write, but in the sense that you're pounding the keys harder or pressing on the pencil or pen harder to grip the emotion that's pouring on the page.

It's happening, and it's right in November when it's happening and it's this weekend and every weekend.
